I wasn't sure about Sony's attendance at CES, so thank you for clarifying it.

Yeah, there are big movements elsewhere as well.

LG are struggling [Hence the recent sales on the C4 model worldwide ], and have sold off sections of its manufacturing to TCL.

The whole TV market landscape, manufacturer wise, is changing.

I saw the Bravia 9 today at the show, a beautiful image.  Not sure about the colours though, seemed a bit saturated and heavy to me, but not doubt that can be adjusted to taste, or likely a calibration on a TV like this.

Mini-LED just may be the way to go for me, over OLED.

Sony put their TV's in the demo mode built into the TV, unfortunately, when in this demo mode, the TV also automatically goes into the VIVID picture preset, and that can't be overridden.

Why these TV companies still insist of demoing their TV's with the most over saturated and garish picture pre set is beyond me.

But then again, there are plenty of people out there who buy these TV, to whom the VIVID picture preset looks the best to them........Ignorance is bliss.

Yeah that makes sense.  All colours were very un-natural, but I did love seeing what it could do in other areas.

It's funny you say that.  My folks have their tv colours set on extreme.  One day I'd had enough and asked if I could change the settings and settle the image down.  They agreed and I was pleased with the result - then the next time I returned the picture was back to their settings.  I guess they're used to watching crap, half their luck!

I have a elderly brother [says me at 64 🤣 ] and neither he or his wife have got much of a clue when it comes to TV's.

I have been informed that they have recently bought a LG C4 OLED [at least they got a good TV] but I'm sort of dreading what they have it looking like.

I did send them a link to the Rtings website, and to the Calibration settings for the TV, but I'm betting the way that its written, he's going to yelling to his long suffering wife, a lot of "I can't find this Fing setting to change it" sort of carry on.

I'll sort it out when I see them at Xmas.

I think you need to do more research on the TCON board fault with the a95L Ian., rather just googling possible troubleshooting methods and posting them, when they are pointless and irrelevant in this situation with regards to this particular fault. It appears that you’re the only person that requires it to be simplified… There is nothing to solve because the red lights are no longer blinking, and the TV is working.

It’s a fact that a95L TV’s manufactured before April 2024 can have a defective TCON board inside. Which means the TCON board 5 blinking red light failure will likely continue to happen over and over again, possibly substantially reducing the life of the TV, unless the part is replaced.

First time, after 8 months i got a NEW A95L because TCON ERR I2C, Manafactured 2024/06(still no hardware fix on this Year+month:see down:).

The error returns on the new TV.(852 hours panel, first was 1000+) , 2 counts T CON ERR I2C + EVD ERR count 1. The technician factory reset my TV+ he did  service reset because that's what Sony told him.(he didn't replace the TV like the first time) This with service reset sounds like a trick to me, scam. normally the three errors no longer appear in the Service menu) I still have 11+/- months of warranty, I would pass it on to Consumer Protection, but the technician is really good, older. and I wouldn't want to cause him problems. The support from Sony is stupid, they said that they don't deal with the technical side but only with the software problems (honestly, not much with the software either) If the TCON error still appears, the old man said to come back again... but maybe I'll come back to another service. even though the first time he also helped me and made a request to change the TV.

Did you receive the replacement or what answer did the technician give you? Or a trick like on my case?
