Mulatu Astatke & His Ethiopian Quintet - Afro-Latin Soul Vols. I&II.

 

This order arrived today, just had a listen, its pretty good, great interaction between the musicians.

Bela Fleck (banjo), Zakir Hussain (tabla), Edgar Meyer (double bass) and featuring Rakesh Chaurasia (bansuri)  -   As We Speak (2023)

 

 

Rakesh Chaurasia is the nephew of Indian flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia.

So sad that Zakir Hussain passed away in 2024, he was a unifying force between musicians with different backgrounds and was very well respected.

 

This album is a studio recording, but the following clip is a recording of them playing together live.
