Spider27
Hello, My Shure SRH940 headphone is broken on hinge so try to replace it with another headphone that I have and could not figure out how to remove the hinge somehow. Has anyone tried to repair headphone and remove hinge before? I found that there are many case of broken hinge on 840 and 940 models so it seems that it's quite common. Here is the photo with highlight. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you. Edited October 11, 2023 by Spider27
doogie44
I always use YouTube for this stuff. . What we don't have here is: 1. The actual (complete) model number 2. A full-size photo (for orientation) I bet there is some nerd doing his bit on YouTube when you plug all this into the search...
audiofeline
It appears that the hinge takes a specialised screwdriver, a circular shape with a side filed off, like a "D". I would expect that there is another one on the other side. Put a screwdriver in both ends, and I would anticipate the hinge will screw apart into two pieces.
075Congo
The complete SRH940 Headphone assembly can be purchased online. A company (REVERB.com) in the USA lists the assembly at $97AUD plus shipping.
