There are now board modifications done to all Australian units, performed by Lance Hewit here in Adelaide to improve their performance under high voltages. Not to mention the problems you may have with getting or (heaven forbid) claiming on insurance if you choose to connect your equipment with non-AU sockets/plugs. I get the whole US plugs idea.
