While going through records to clean this evening I came across this album that I have not played since the early 80’s. After 30 minutes in a ultrasonic cleaner it sounds excellent. I’m just glad I now have the front end plus speakers and more importantly an amplifier that can make the most of this piece of music.

Marius Constant,  Eloge De La Folie. Erato  STU 70334, France.

Enjoying this, esp. track 2 the harpsichord solo reminds me of Herbie Hancock playing a celesta on the RVG CD remaster bonus tracks on Freddie Hubbard's Blue Spirits.

I found that I had put this  CD in the cull box, must have been having an off day, or not wearing my glasses!

Janos Starker, Arnold Eidus, Starker Plays Kodaly. Saga  5386, Stereo UK 1974.

Gramahpone quote on the jacket reads "absolutely staggering. A performance which I can only describe as sensational."Well, if anything the Gramophone critic is undercooking it, this is a performance on steroids, these works are fast becoming my favourite classical record.
