Hanging Megasorber from 16 mm plasterboard ceiling

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I have a bunch of 50 mm Megasorber panels of 1200 x 600 with MLV backing that I need to hang from my studio ceiling, at various distances from the ceiling. I'm thinking along the lines of four (corner) suspension points per panel (exact mechanism yet to be finalised......). These panels are relatively light; around 5 kg per, so the load per suspension point would be 2 kg at maximum, or call it 3 kg for safety.

My question:

What might be appropriate ways to secure the nylon cords emanating from the Megasorber panels/frames to the ceiling? Options appear to be Ramset Spring Toggles, Toggler Toggles, etc.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Cheers!

Bob.

The options you mentioned would be fine for that weight (they specify their holding weight on the packets).  Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to have some purlions/joists at some fitting points as well to screw directly into.

I’ve successfully used these

Thank you. I checked those out yesterday. Expensive little buggers, for what they are!

Toggle bolts are perfect for your situation. Don’t pay the Bunnings tax. Check out your local electrical wholesaler and save.
