If the Linn still hums, try with the ground both connected and disconnected from the pre. I lost the hum on two pre-amps by disconnecting the ground, although the current pre-pre- prefers it connected.

 

Linns can be a law unto themselves.

I finally got around to buying some primer.

Speakers stands do have other uses :)

2 coats so far, rubbing back with 240 grit.

Nothing more on the sub, but instilled with the confidence I added a few layers of undercoat to the LK1 speakers.

The thought of ruining a Mike masterpiece has scared me for a while, but I thought they would still sound good if I screwed up the paintwork.

 

Sorry Mike, but I'm not good at painting.
