Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Almost big enough for twin decks Landing pad!?!
Grumpy Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 "See it spinning"? of course we can, we are in the Darkside where magic happens 1
Telecine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 The longer the better Duc! I've been collecting bits for a 20" unipivot. Including a concrete arm pod. So we'll see what I come up with as I go. The plinth is a temporary thing while I build a slate one. Someone put the pepper grinder on your spindle.
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Someone put the pepper grinder on your spindle. A heavy redgum weight generously made for me by kind SNA member. 1
Telecine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 A heavy redgum weight generously made for me by kind SNA member. Looks great and I am sure that it will be very useful. Just having a bit of fun with you ; )
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 I was smiling as I wrote that. Bloody Internet and the no emotion thing. Bit like a news reader with Botox.
Telecine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Bit like a news reader with Botox. Gold! Get that arm together and on it now.

Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Get that arm together and on it now. Need to decide on one to buy first! Any ideas?

Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 You have inspired me to get on with my Luxman TT Which Luxman? They are a thing of beauty with all that aluminium!
Batty Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Low end TT - PD264. Epos gave it to me, I so want to bring this DDTT back to life. The armboard is a Townsend Rega 3 point that I had, but it needs work too.
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 The Luxmans look beautiful. Is there anything major wrong with it? I hope we get to see some photos along the way!
Batty Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Nothing wrong with it funcionally, apart from having no arm. The base is warped, replacing that with 6mm MDF. I think I could make up an armboard for any 9" tonearm I have taken a few photos Edited July 21, 2013 by Batty
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Even better if there are no electrical problems! They are an interesting beast. I think it's the thick platter that does it for me.
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Aluminium arm board to match your TT maybe? http://bit.ly/16RUqA3 1
Telecine Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Need to decide on one to buy first! Any ideas? So many options for these. I have an Analogue Instruments Apparition 12 that I like with my Garrard 401.

Batty Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Aluminium arm board to match your TT maybe? http://bit.ly/16RUqA3 I'm going to use the one I have as a template. Maybe an older SME 'S' shape arm to keep it in period.
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Nice! They pop up on Lenco heaven for sale every now and again.
shaky Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Great work Linc. Happy to see it up and going finally. You must be grinning from ear to ear. Time to get that arm now. And nice weight ;-)
Upfront Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks mate. My wife described it as a 1000w **** eating grin. She doesn't swear normally. So a bit of a giggle for me. Bit like hearing your mum swear! The weight is huge! A good weight though. Thank you very much once again for your handy work!
tuyen Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Well done mate. Not long to go now. PS. nice pepper shaker.
