Friend is looking to take a PJ back to their holiday home in NZ ... so they need something that can get there with a minimum amout of fuss...pref in a suitcase so musty be sturdy.. or light enough for handcarry.

 

1080P 2D HDMI and maybe component &/or composite. nothing too fancy, easy to operate for house guests too.

 

must be VFM too.

 

Sorry no throw distance or screen size, but I'm guessing 4-5 meters should ok and 90-120" screen

Mate you saw my Mits HC 4000, which should cost <1700. It comes in a small but sturdy box. Multiple inputs.

Prob best to look at those office PJs. Small, sturdy, light, made to stand abuse- don't think many are 1080 but many people wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

Epson make loads of them.

Optoma HD33 is pretty small and a decent performer to boot

Ya. I carry my optoma hd 20 to my oversea nest without any problem. It is small and fit into my trolley bag and  I bring on board the plane. Hd 33 is slightly bigger so no issue. Custom does not stop me to inspect as it is so tiny.
