jfk Posted April 27, 2007 Share Posted April 27, 2007 i am contemplating to get the hitachi 9500. initially was aiming at getting a simple sharp 37" LCD for ard $1.7k. But looking at this 42" plasma with 1080p, it seems quite attractive to pay more for the higher specs. is plasma still prone to burn in effect? or is this not a huge concern with the new generation panels? seems like most plasma now have that white wash function or sort. do u reckon that this is a better buy than a 37" LCD with 720p? i also have a panasonic AE700 projector in living room. my intension is to use the plasma/LCD for daily tv. projector use for DVD and xbox360 thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I read that whole 80+ page thread at AVSForum and the way they get into the service menu does not work on the 9800. As for how bad I can't say be he said it is one of those thing that you might not notice until someone tells you about it.... then you are always noticing it....
