I had the 1028 be and i couldn't stand them.Purchased without listening as they were a bargain. Tried the micro utopia and within 30 seconds i recognized the same sound signature. I am leaving these days with a pair of Harbeth monitor 30.1and i am content. I wouldn't mind trying some Marten speakers though.

Everyone has different taste I can understand. But also you need right room treatment, space and equipment for focal. Same to Magico. 

I agree that everyone has different taste.i swapped speaker  cables for expensive Cardas, then upgraded my Devialet amp for Vitus amplifier and fully treated the room and still no joy.I guess me and Focal can't be friends

My lesson for myself is that buying more expensive staff is no guarantee that it is allways better. Harbeth are half the price of the Focals

Glad you find what you like. I haven’t got a chance to listen to Harbeth, hope one day I’ll have chance to have a listen to them. 

You should, the audition of Devialet 1000 with top of the range Harbeth monitor 40.2 sparked the whole reshuffle of my system. You may not like it but at leat you'll have the experience

YG.....?!! Gosh both my gears and his added together will still appear as dusts on that rack! Seriously..... $45,000.00 entry price tag for a hifi rack, come ON...... We having CoVid pandemic here, aren’t we? 

I bought 6 levels of YG rack. Yeah, they are pricey for sure, but a rack is one of those things you'd keep for a lifetime. Unlike flipping speakers and electronics where you do actually wear a loss. Have you ever seen a used YG rack for sale? I bet never.

 

I do agree with you, the concept of the rack being more expensive than all the stuff that sits on it wouldn't make much sense.

How much noticeable difference did the YG rack make over your previous rack Brodric?

Look at the brighter side. That TAOC rack will be a lot easier to assemble than a YG rack. Put Critical Mass Systems Center Stage 2 under your components and you'll end up with the isolation performance of a YG rack but at a fraction of the price.

The collection of dust is significantly more noticeable on the YG rack, that's for sure!

 

No, seriously. I use CS2 footers under all my electronics which makes the isolation performance of a high-end rack rather moot. Whether you sit your stuff on a table top or a high performance rack, if they are on CS2's it doesn't really matter what racking system you use.

Took me a while to assemble them. I can’t build my rack too high as the back wall is my cinema screen. With the new rack I feel sound stage is no longer concentrate in the centre, the sound stage expanded.
