MusicByTheFire Posted September 11, 2020 Share Posted September 11, 2020 Hi All, Just thought I would share a fix for volume control issues on Marantz receivers (volume not changing when volume knob turned). Turns out the problem was too much damping fluid injected during assembly of volume sensor resulting in electrical contact insulation in volume sensor wheel. Rather than unsolder the volume wheel and make life hard for myself, one just removed the metal containment clips of the volume sensor and cleaned the contact wheel with isopropyl alcohol. Pictures attached. Hopes this assists Hi-Fi enthusiasts with same issue.
