This year I have decided to juice the oranges that have fallen to the ground from my blood orange citrus trees...nudged off the tree by both curious parakeet becks and the rest...after checking they are not rotting or whatever...instead of picking them all up and binning them like I have been doing for the last few years...

So this morning armed with a large plastic bucket and picker upper stick I set to work for my morning brecky vitamin 'C' hit...manually juicing...and picked off the ground in this weather it was like taking the oranges out of the fridge...nice and cool to the touch!  Beautiful colour, cool and tarty sweet...

@2Brix You can see my blood orange has not ripened fully on the tree if it had it would be bloody red in colour  and a lot sweeter...

I still have many more in the tree hopefully the wildlife here don't knock them all to the ground...

Once the citrus and mandarins finish I have my eyes on the Avocado trees...bet the parrakeets do as well...

Hi @pete_mac it is hard enough to contain my SMW snifters to the weekend let alone a hearty drop each and every morning...I don't think my liver and/or wallet could survive!  

Ahhh that time of year again and another crop off my Blood Orange tree to juice...I canna get over their colour!...sweet!

 

 

we got some from farmers market the other week and indeed very good for juicing...
