erest
Item: AUDAX 2 way bookshelf DIY speaker pair. Location: Keysborough VIC 3173 Price: $350. Pickup only. Item Condition: Excellent. Reason for selling: Too many speakers. No room. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I constructed these a couple of years ago using 6.5" AUDAX woofers and 34mm Audax silk dome tweeters. The cabinets are professionally adapted refurbished, and very heavy construction by John at Aranmar Acoustics. (John is the guru of good speaker enclosures) The design comes from an Italian origin as shown in the link, and they did a beautiful job of the crossover design. Very airy and accurate sound using these excellent Audax drivers. Midrange is especially good. These cost me more in parts than my asking price, and a lot of labor of love. Audition welcome for serious SNAers only. This is a no grille design. Cabinet sizes: 240W x 320D x 420H. Construction and design here: http://www2.audiokit.it/ITAENG/KitDiffusori/2vie/RES/Chantal.htm I am a knowledgeable speaker hobbyist, and certainly know what I'm doing. Spinnergeoff
Nice job I say as one modest DIYer to another. It's of interest to note (for any hifi trivia nights) that the head of Focal was once a driver designer with Audax.
Dogbert
Another diy dabbler here, these look really well made and are at a bargain price. Audax are well known to make some cracking drivers at a good price, I wish I was local to have a listen. GLWTS
