does any one know why the latest mp4 and avi files have no sound on my topfield 7160

im running oct 2004 firmware (that has tap capability)

I believe that was the firmware that had the missing codec, so no sound. You need to go to a different firmware to get the codec back.

I remember reading about that codec issue over at the topfiield forum. just had a overhaul of my 7160 due to hdd issues and installed the only firmware i had on file. i cant download any firmware previous to sept 14 2012 from the rejuvenated (?) topfield site . does any one have the " Feb 10 2011 TF-BCPF 1.06.00 firmware for 7160 System ID : 33021" available or know where i can get it. it would be appreciated
