How can I work out if my OT posts are removed, how many posts will remain?

BTW Andrew, I think the system in use at the LS1 forums is just as open to the same problems as having a post count. Instead of numbers, you have categories.... which are still based on post count.

I agree Foggy.

I haven't seen any system of "ranking" at any other forum that doesn't use some form of increase in post count as the determinant for "elevation".

I'm sure the admins would love having to scroll through hordes of threads - including all previous years' worth; if the sort of "information" based appraisal system I've seen proposed by some posters on this topic is to be fair, reading every post with a fine tooth comb just to determine members who "contribute" more with relevant information than their fellows... and who's to say that they know whether the info is a "positive contribution" or not.

Still; I hope my request for clearly stated benefits that will occur if the OT posts are not counted in the total post count, may one day be answered.

* (5% probable) helping other forum members with issues or problems bitey is knowledgable in

* (95% probable) helping other forum members with issues or problems bitey is unknowledgeable in, but feels compelled to offer untested, unprooven and no doubt high risk, low reward strategies and or advice

* Re-establishment of the THB 'Attachments' Mobile Bar

Results include:

* Scorching of posts

* Banning of bitey for between 1 and 3 days or more

* Sticky warnings related to behaviours listed in the 'solutions table' above

Any non topic post ..in whichever forum....would not add to your count !!!...simple to describe,,but how do you police it ? Do we need more police....on top of spelling nazis, gramma nazis or just Mel Brooks dressed as nazis

If its automated it is open to abuse. If it requires a report button ..it has to be acted on by human intrvention..what a nightmare. Can yo imagine Caniffe on toddler nightwatch having to look after over40s toddlers as well and responding to calls for any and all sundry off topic post deletions. Then there is the argument that one could say "hey just posting +1 does add to the discussion as Im showing I agree with whoever" However as an add on to the current process where off topic posts ( in any forum..example falmewars) get deleted...yes decrease the post count as well.

Maybe a penalty system ...1st offence 1 deletion to count...2nd offence 5 deletions to count for any single deleted post etc...

Nice in theory ...but I dont think this software allows for it

Semi-pro will not go down in the anals of great comedies.

If you are looking for a plot synopsis, well this movie is not for you. It's pretty short on story and pretty high on funny bits.

The one thing I will say is that the film is not overpowered by Will Ferrell silliness. Oh don't mistake me there is some silliness but it is only part of a greater picture.

It has 4-5 hilarious scenes and many lines that will be quotable for a long time. I left the theatre laughing and repeating line with my friends. And really what more are you asking for in a Will Ferrell Comedy???

Good on you DrP for making a decision to vote. I believe this is a hard one, and will go right to the line. Whether this will affect the ultimate decision which I believe was a forgone conclusion anyway, I do not know. But I do know that pressing Yes or No is a hard call to make. Sitting on the fence is easier, so those who do not wish to vote I fully understand.

Yes. But I'm sure the poll would not have been put up if consideration were not intended to be given to results and comments of this thread.

Unfortunately many of us have strayed a bit from the actual No or Yes of the topic.

Many members have forwarded excellent comments with good thinking but as yet no one has outlined a positive definitive statement in defence of yes or no, not just from a personal POV but also from a POV of the www status of the Forum.

My opinion is that the integrity of the dtvforum.info is the main consideration, particularly in respect to it obviously now being read more world wide.
