Just wondering what the difference in picture quality would be.........OR what I could expect it to be, between the NEW 50" and 58" Panasonic plasmas.

I know one is bigger..........just wondering if the different contrast ratio would make the BLACKS blacker on one more than the other??

Any other differences I could expect??

58" 10000:1

As I understand it, that's what the contrast ratio is - the difference between the white and the black - so, yes the blacks would appear blacker. I'd also be interested in what someone more knowledgeable about these things can tell us, as I'm seriously considering getting the 58" when it comes out.

Wait for the 50PZ77 which has 10,000 C/R. It was announced in US a couple weeks back (and a bit cheaper too).

I wouldn't worry too much about the quoted 'contrast ratio', see what your eyes tell you if you can view them in the appropriate environment.

But how long is it going to be until that comes out here?

I think they can accept a 24p signal but it won't be displayed at 24p.
