i'm in the process of setting up a htpc with digital tuners and a evga gtx260 gpu, will see how things look once it get it setup and work out how to enable the purevideo decoder...............i do have to enable it?? that what your saying arn't you?

I just built a htpc using vista and tv pack 2008...... i kind like the epg, has enough info for me. will freeview help with this?

you wouldnt get problems like this with the 810 from digitalview

I returned my 810 and got a refund. Probably use the money to build a HTPC.....well a few peices of Hardware anyway:p

Just got of the phone to the people were I bought the 810.........suggested taking it back and getting another one Will see

One per minute on some recordings. My partner was watching the carrols the other night and the picture FROZE as did the sound, then sound returned. She switched over to Plasma tuner and picture/sound was fine, back to 810 tuner and still frozen. We watched it back from hard drive and the sound/picture problem was there to, possibly worse. Its a shame. Guy

I'm seriously considering returning mine today. While it simple to use and built like a tank the sound drop outs make it impossible to view recorded shows. Why does it always happen when something important is about to be said?? And the killer is...........sound drop out......... :o Emails have been sent to Control Dynamics support and John Vandenberghe the national product representative. Guy

Ok............. My biggest concern is the audio dropping out in recording. While I admit I don't have the best "signal"........ the drop outs arn't there when watching "live", only on the hard drive copy. Next...... If you start to watch a program that is STILL recording "Chase Play" you can NOT stop watching (from the Hd), if you press STOP all you get is the options yes/no/rename. Unlike when watching a different program (from Hd) while recording, you then get the option to choose which to stop. From the aerial the plug in sequence is Dvr-810, VCR, then Pioneer LX508a. Why is it I get practically NO signal(its unwatchable) to either the VCR or Plasma when the 810 is either turned off or in standby?? Love to hear your thoughts Guy

Hey, I've had my DVR-810 for nearly a week and I'm very satisfied with it........BUT there are a few niggling "issues" that I would like to raise. A link to this "Thread" is going to be sent to DigitalView "Control Dynamics Pty. Ltd." and hopefully they will join us here. So I hope you all join me here to express your thoughts on the 810, and let us know what you LOVE and hate about it. And ofcourse what you would love to see FIXED!! Guy

Ok....Ive hooked up my 810............ First impressions are that its very easy to use............ sound through hdmi is softer than that of normal tv...........volume of the 810 is at 100 a few breaks in sound/picture when playing from hd that werent experienced when viewing the program live. THE BIG QUESTION............I have NO Signal when the 810 is in standby...........can not watch TV through the KURO when the 810 is in standby.........the 810 is the first thing connected the kuro the last??

bought a 810 yesterday............yet to hook it up...............,.,..... work xmas party and no hdmi cable........... why not a toppy??? to buggy.............why not release it without the bugs?? digitalview will be adding features (via firmware upgrades) to their box but they will be testing them before they release them on the public.............. ...........unlike toppy and beyo which just hope for the best

Just got of the phone to Digitalview Tech Support..............They will be introducing a firmware upgrade that will allow archiving to an external usb hard drive............ahhh but the catch.......1. It will be in a special file format, 2. It will only work with a special external usb hard drive unit bought from them ( they have a 4Tb uunit in the lab testing it at the moment$$$$$$), 3. You wont be able to do anything else while watching something off the external hd ie. record etc. And this will only be released when they are 100% certain it work perfectly. The size of the external hd depends on the market $$$$$ and demand. So I now have more info at my disposal and now I'm even more confused.....an 810 that will work flawlessly or build a HTPC and have glitches and the ability to transfer and burn whatever I want.??? what do people think?

I'm considering it...........and i think it comes with a bigger hard drive?? it better............

@ Thudd.......... Which microfibre towel do you recommend of the ones shown?? I think I've seen a Meguires one like the last one on the list (Waffle Weave Drying Towel - Navy Blue)..........

the Kuro's come with cleaning cloths but the bezel is so easily scratched..........I'm leaving mine dusty

I'm letting my kuro get dusty for now.........going to try compressed air and maybe see what Meguiar's have in the way of micro fibre cloths.

How are we all going about cleaning our kuro's?? Any scratches yet??

ok.......... but both the left and right FRONT speakers signals are coming from the same output....so how do you get the different channels.....ummm for example stereo sound?

How do you go about using the analogue outputs on sound cards? They dont have left front, right front .......its left/right front?? and sub/center How does it work??
