Verity Audio Finns in Natural Makore finish. The images make it look a little orange but they are very woody.

Cheers

Very interesting looking speakers.

They look very valve friendly :love

Nice looking Verity's!

very nice ! one of the very best speakers I've ever heard were verity's (lohengrins).

am sure these sound superb and look very well built and put together :)

Wow, gorgeous!

Verity's are a brilliant speaker, they never fail to impress

congrats, they look right at home in your room there.

Speakers look great

Very nice indeed.

I guess we can assume they will be staying in the system now? :)

Hmmm, yeah maybe, probably. I feel lazy for not checking anything else out. But I played 'In the air tonight' yesterday. Damn it sounded awesome. What more does a person need!

Hi Nathan,

Great looking setup and the Verity's look gorgeous.

Do they have the bass driver mounted on the rear baffle?

Shane

Hi,

Did you try to toed in even further? Let say tweeters just in front of your eyes? Your room looks like will benefit from extreme toe in.

Cheers

Henry

Thanks for the comments all

Shane - Yep, 6.5" ported driver on the rear. Firing at the rear wall gives the impression that the bass isnt coming from the speakers at all

Henry - They are toed in a bit more now, they werent in front of my eyes so i tried that. Seems to  be a little better imaging and depth. Looks weird with them on such angles, but it works, thanks!

The whole room is due for a change around, im going to try them on the short wall. But i need to do a few other things to the room. Stay tuned!

Amazing photographs. As good as any professional. The saturation pops out at you. Love those John Blue's..

Thanks Tom, my photography has a long way to go yet - but its all trial and error to see what works at the moment

JB3's are a special little speaker, and im pretty sure im using them for exactly what the designer intended

Very, very nice Nathan.

Love the monochrome shot.

Perfect size!

AND?

C'mon Nathan, how's it sounding, has it changed the sound at all?

  • Author

The first thing I noticed was how they even out the sound. I used to get more boom and volume from the rightbhand side and as a result the centre image was slightly out when the speakers were at equal distances. To fix it I bought the left hand speaker forward more. With the traps installed this problem no longer exists and the speakers can be even on both sides. Ive also noticed a smoother presentation and ive been able to turn it up louder than before. There is less boom and reverberation but the bass is still there.

My onl disappointment is that it hasnt really solved the problem of heavy bass heard through the wall. I didnt expect them to, but I did hope for a small improvement.
