Larrikin
So sorry for double posting.Larrikin is that Megamart in Sydney?? i just might go tomorrow. Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes - megamart in Sydney. Forgot to add it also included the stand. So TV, High Def Box, and stand for $4400. Definitely the best price out there (including HomeZone's $4200 as it didn't include a set top box which is more than $200).
david_h
I'd have to agree, that's definately a good price. Homezone also sold me 3 cables about one third off marked price (saving $60). Even so, Megamart sounds an unbelievable price and probably the best around at the moment.
dtp
Paid $5500 for TH42PV500A , TOSHIBA J35 and HDMI-HDMI cable as well. The J35 is so far so good, no problem at all!!!!! (it has no blue dot or red dot on the box!!) but I found out it has V69 firmware. I have a web link here, it may help to solve some J35 problems: http://www.hdtvprimer.com/ANTENNAS/glossaryA.html#fringe

They have a product listed as:PANASONIC 106cm HD Plasma TV 42" Wide VIERA Built-in Tuner for $3887 (Am I allowed to say that? if not, please edit price but leave question) My question is - Can anyone confirm if this is the TH-42PV500A http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...duct/View/G4256 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's the superseded Vierra

flexsis
I am going to buy a new 42' or 50' Panasonic plasma, but I dont know how much it should be?If I pay cash at Good guys store, should I get 10~15% off?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I purchased the TH-50PV500A for $5500 plus the panasonic stand for $800 ( retail around $1200 ) So all up $6300, I think I got a pretty good deal. I had a very close listen for any noise and I couldnt hear a damn thing. This TV shits on the Samsungs and LG's which I compared against. Now I just need to get a HDMI STB and to replace my crappy STB.

regis169
Hi If you do decide to get one Dick Smith PowerHouse have them sub $5000, around $4400 if you have access to a ABN. My Brother checked one(PV50) out a couple of weeks ago and couldn't see any seam but be careful. Regards Basil <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sorry, but how come you get it discounted with the supply of ABN? flexsis
flexis,Great deal, where abouts were you able to get it for this price? How much did you put the pressure on them? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi dmb I asked the guy at Megamart the best he could do on the 42 and 50 42 = $4100 50 = $5500 At this point I had put no pressure on. I was quite surprised at the 50 inch price given what I had seen on here and thought $6000 would have been a good price. Goodguys matched the price and I pushed them to get the stand for $800 ( I love the stand with the TV - beats any furniture I had looked at ) I went with goodguys as I am a little weary of Megamart and the fact they may not be around in the near future. Didnt look anywhere else as i thought as this point I was pushing their margins to the limit and I would just be wasting time and petrol driving around to more stores
berkmac2001
Very happy with my 42-THPA50A (SD) from DJ's Brookvale at $3,150 on 2 yrs int free including pedastal stand. This is the latest gen Viera 106cm standard def screen with analogue tuner & built-in speakers. PQ just keeps getting better - Home & Away on 7 (analogue rebroadcast on Foxtel) looked like it was HD! Is now mounted on wall, so pedastal stand is looking for a new home!
cosworth
Was quoted $4150 from Goodguys Rockdale tonight. I think I could of pushed it another $50 but no more. Once I find one for under 4K, I'm buying!
