Any web links also? norpus First have a great time the place takes yrs off my age so to speak because most shopping centres in Sydney have on theme "Women Shopping" the opposite is true for me in HK 1.Go to the main centre on Nathan road up from YMCA and near HMV there is a shop called Fortress now that's just like HN BUT these guys know their stuff on the 2nd or 3rd floor have a look at their displays to get a feel of the prices[they are good prices by the way] and to see what's available then go to Mong Konk around the MTR there are heaps of shops I will dig up my other contacts where I get my Denon from and PM the info thru cheers laurie ps anyone going to HK when you buy stuff if possible throw away the NICE box and use it! now that automatically make it second hand and a 25% discount towards your allowance is wiped off! not a well know fact e.g walkman/cameras/lenes ect then tell the nice people at the airport
RodN Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Yes lets just remember it's not comparable to other things because we're being ripped off on it's price by Aussie someones. The Z9 is being sold for $3500 USD now, and they're still asking $10k here, shameful. For that difference you could have aholiday in the states and purchase a 120v converter and still have lots of change!

Spero D. Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Glenncol- I am glad you are considering it Another thing to consider is getting it via Singapore instead of Japan for around $1200 more for the following reasons- Australia voltage (as opposed to the Japanese 110Volt) and English manual and English OSD. Also if you are only going to use it as a Pre like I am looking at doing then there is the AVC-A11XV (aka 4805) which will have the same features but less amps with less power but at a cheaper price. But this wont be out till April I think. Food for thought. Spero D.

ritesh Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 If you guys are seriously considering it (I thought, Glenn, didn't like the idea originally.... anyway...); you might also want to consider a similarly priced (if not less); and similarly featured, the Integra DTR 10.5 ! I saw and heard this baby recently at Klapp, it was pretty good ! And is upgradable with lots of upgrade choices..... With Integra's 5 year warranty to go.... Just a suggestion, Ritesh

Just a suggestion, Ritesh <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah i have heard the Integra but sadly to say its not my cuppa tea if going down the integra path again i would stay with the RDC 7 and throw in the RDA7. May reasong for considering this is the options the denon gives for multi room and if the Pre outs were used i would hope to the 10 channels of amplification could be used else where but this remains to be seen. I am in the thinking phase at this stage and still have to audition the unit my main concern will be the processing and preamp stages of this unit. I am expecting the pre amp in this unit to be top notch and the processing to be flawless this is what i have come ot expect after owning the RDC7 which excells in there two fields. Should either let the unit down i will move on and wait for the Halcro I have considered the Lexicon and Proceed to be very very good processors but i found the RDC7 better than both on the pre amp side and better than the lexicon on the steering and processing side. I am looking ot replace the RDC7 with a better unit but if i find that the RDC7 is better than what is on offer i will stay with that and consider a amp only upgrade
