Darren69
They have arrived, now all I need is some @Lenehan Audio ML5's to squash them with. Lovely things, very well made, typical Townshend quality. The pods are a combination of a spring of a given rate along with a small air bellow. Don't know what your original plan is/was, but do speak to Mike as he has something in progress.

Pops110
Are you going to set the Focals up on these or have they gone to a new home already?

Lenehan Audio
I believe they will work ! It's a principal I've been working on for 30years and is the same basically as my Isolation platforms . rawl99 tried it first on his ML5's with excellent results ! Hergest
I've been interested in these for a fair while along with a lot of Max Townshend's other seismic gear so am interested to hear your opinion. Is there an Australian dealer or are they from overseas?
Ando
Possibly of interest ? http://www.isoacoustics.com/ Cheers Mike

Mike @rawl99...sure did & I have heard the result first hand...OUTSTANDING... We used a TOET to validate the results...TOET = Two Open Ears Test... Rawl made alloy plates then placed springs between the plates with the speaker on top... He made chocks of timber that took the weight of the speakers...no chocks speaker moves around on the springs..its quite unnerving... Stick the chocks of timber in so the speaker is rigid & the sound stages collapses...very easily discernible...but probably not measurable... I was shocked...surprised & amazed...but I really shouldn't be...rawl is a lateral thinking process person... Now I know that is an oxymoronic statement...those who know him will agree...those who don't will roll their eyes... Loved the look of the Townshend stuff...but geez there's a few (cough) English pounds of recovery R&D in them there springs... frankn
Barry Diament has been preaching 'floating' components and particularly speakers for a while as well - Vibration
Jventer
I like the Townsend stuff and has seen what @Rob181 has described. Now Mike just has to commercialise that version and hopefully we could have similarin Australia at a cheaper price. Thanks @Darren69 for posting. @Ando I knew about the IsoAcoustics - looks like a good product as well. It is also quite expensive $220pounds capability will set you back US$600 so more than $1,600 A$ per pair. @acg has a different approach that one possibly could copy.

Proven (to him & me) that "flotation" works... Knows the difference quality cables make... Uses ribbon speakers to evaluate recordings... I always loved the Fractal/Isolda cables. Townshend also communicate better than Goertz, haha, well, slightly better. I have not heard Goertz SC but I do know the Fractal IC's kill the Goertz ones. Would be interesting to try out their Allegri but I don't think it has a remote (deal breaker for me). Cost of Sesmics- meh, you only pay for it once, don't be such a Scotsman. Granted, not a lot of this product around so hopefully the emergence (and hopefully a modicum of marketing) will ensure some competition will rationalise retail pricing. Have you tried any such thing under your speakers Rob? what are you using at the moment?

You should see my bathroom. The little end catch on the tape hasn't even snapped off yet, resulting in that big whirring noise in your hand whilst the self retracting spring goes to town after being finally cut free. Darren69
Well Mr Lenehan has kindly incorporated these into the manufacture of my ML5's, his reason being that the down firing port must be a certain distance from the floor to operate as intended. So I doubt I will be able to tell anyone if they are effective or not cos I wont know the difference, haha! Could remove them sometime I suppose. Mike has added them so they can be removed if required. Or I'll just get a beer and listen to music.
