There are two versions, full and mini.
Mini version requires additional bridge rectifiers as modular.

I have two already assembled mini version as spares.

photos attached with suitable transformer.

HI, Sorry couldn't read back through the whole thread, hoping you can save me some time. I 'm using my PC at the moment with normal USB out, which i am pretty happy with.

You just got a new usb out sound card to try? But I think they are around 800 euro?

On your exploration are you aware of anything between about $100 and $200 that would make a decent enough upgrade on a standard usb out.

Thanks

Hi Russ,

I have a couple of Sotm USB cards not using.
Can set it up for you to hone trial and if you’re happy, you can proceed with a payment. Yes, it’s within your budget.

PM me if interest?
Cheers.

Great deal, nice one @Chanh

  • 2 weeks later...

Well I was lucky enough to head to Chanh's today to have a listen to his set up. It was a bit of an eye opener.

There is a fair amount of dollars invested here, but i have heard plenty of systems over the years that have similar or higher value gear.

I find too many systems happen behind the speaker for me, what i loved here was the way the sound extended into the room engulfing me in the sound whilst not taking my attention away from the singer and the instruments.

Listening to Patricia Barber Companion, there is a part where a door closes at the back of the venue, I actually thought the door really did close behind me, until at the end of the song Chanh asked me if I heard the door.

I don't think I have ever heard that detail before, let alone it being so well positioned in space as well.

The Vinyl playback was exceptional as well, it would be hard to say one was better than the other, but Vinyl just has something that helps with relaxed listening.

This is the best i have heard the Magico's sound after being underwhelmed on a few previous occasions, i can now see why they have a good reputation.

The server was on show today, but i have an excuse to go back anyway so perhaps i'll get to hear it next week, i'll post my thoughts when I do.

Great experience and nice to meet you Chanh.

Thanks Russell

Another weekend project awaits for my action.
Anyone of you have experience with them? Where to place for best return investment? I got 3 boxes, with 18 panels all up.

Cheers.

Is it 6 diffuser per box? Then it’s not too bad. I thought it’s only 3, thought it’s expensive.

These are Vicoustic DC2.  I have them at a good price from Revolution Turntable in OZ park.

Not much feedback on this. Ok I will break the seal and say 9 or 16 in centre behind speakers centred at your head position. the rest at 1st reflection left and right say 2 each side centred on mid point between tweeter and mid and rest at rear (maybe another box! easy when its not my money ?)

Thanks @frednork!

I have been extremely busy at work, and these were left lying there until today...

Currently experimenting the unknown..., seems like a risky business but so far the ears appear to appreciate the differences with this minor adjustment.

I feel you may need more panels to hear the difference, it’s a big room you know ?

18 panels  should be sufficient to hear their impact : )

Yes, understood – I just wasn't sure if you knew Chanh has another 14 to play with which I am certain he will do in due course : )

I’m thinking of placing the additional four in the centre/middle and 8 on the ceiling, but four at each left/right speakers that reflects down to the sweet positioned seat. Finally, one of each on right and left side-wall, with same principle.

Ofcourse, if I need more..., it is just a matter of dropping by “Revolution Turntable” in Osborne Park to collect more. ???

Apologies for the hold up... My day job was certainly taken a priority when one needs to put foods on the table....!

Finally done with the diffusers. Missus did not like the way it looks. She thinks they don't blend in well with the room. Apart from that, it sounds fantastic and to celebrate the milestone...., I recruited more grape juice for next gtg.....
