My daughter’s wedding yesterday. Recovery BBQ today so I get to drink my new son-in-laws wine. This is a cracker with the spit roast lamb.

  • Happy father's day to those who are celebrating it.   Caught up with some SNA folk yesterday. Quite the headache today..   @metal beat @Viognier @klackto

  • Very good cool climate wine and certainly good value compared to the Clonakilla flagship. Co-fermented with 5% Viognier. Has the classic Canberra Shiraz white pepper.

  • Had a great lunch at Oncore by Clare Smyth yesterday. Very very exe wine list, so did matching wines..  grabbed an extra glass of this Neb.   Views speak for themselves

Opened a recent arrival as well.

2021 seems to be a good vintage across most Italian regions

Happy chinese new year everyone!

Very excellent. This is what old Hunters can be like.

Alas, no Lindemans HV any more.

[Label a bit soggy after being in fridge on another hot high humidity day.]

It might have been a CellarmastersWoolworthsDorrien proprietary label but was a rather good Limestone Coast Cab. The "Icon" attribute suggests they thought it good too.

Last one.

Yes - a great drop, limited in numbers.

There was three tiers:

“Limestone coast” - crowd pleasing easy drinkers, minimal oak. $12-15.

“Mt Benson” range - good mid price solid $20-25 red. Medium term cellaring.

“Icon” $30-40. Pick of the crop and barrels.

(Usually Mt Benson rather than Coonawarra)

Neil Doddridge the winemaker.

Nicest of blokes.

Midweek rhymer. Still in Berwick which is equidistant between Mornington and Yarra. This is a banger. Jane is based in Burgundy and specialises in Pinot.

Happy Thursday team, tonight's rhymer.

Bit of a bargain here.

A serious pinot this one for not much coin if you see some around the traps, worthy of a try.

Heading home via the Scenic Route. Our favourite stop over is Beechworth, has some very fancy restaurants however a balmy Thursday night calls for an easy dinner at one of the pubs. Apparently this is their House Red.

Last night’s rhymer. Only god would know why but I believe this is my first try of their PN. Won’t be my last, a wonderful wine for reasonable value.

Sake drinkers here can appreciate my excitement. You can’t possibly find these 3 at the same time in AU, let alone taste them. Truely fortunate.
