  • Happy father's day to those who are celebrating it.   Caught up with some SNA folk yesterday. Quite the headache today..   @metal beat @Viognier @klackto

  • Very good cool climate wine and certainly good value compared to the Clonakilla flagship. Co-fermented with 5% Viognier. Has the classic Canberra Shiraz white pepper.

  • Had a great lunch at Oncore by Clare Smyth yesterday. Very very exe wine list, so did matching wines..  grabbed an extra glass of this Neb.   Views speak for themselves

This week's wine shopping, some nice Bourgogne Blanc.

Now - when to drink?

BB.jpeg

Give them three to four years ideally. I've found the PYCM Bourgogne Blanc to be a little uninspiring until it has a few years in bottle then they come together beautifully. The Leflaive and Sauzet BB's have greater appeal when young, their 22's and 23's are delicious now.

Sauzet BB's

They were on my shopping list for next week 🤫

While we are on theme. Been a hell of a day, I need something comforting. On a positive note the Leflaive is delicious and I finally entered the 20th Century and organised a Qobuz subscription today.

Ole~ DC, kicking things off with some Tequila Reposado.

This is some of the best value sipping Repo on the market, made old school style.

Happy Friday 🌵

Oh crikey, I just realized. Vintage 2026 - best of luck and hope the gods were kind to you.

Looking forward to tasting.

Today’s wine list.

Haven’t tried either before (AFAIK).

Enjoy your Saturday folks.

A Friday rhymer.

A quirky wine with a lot of "herbs" rather than the "red fruit", or "forest floor" or whatever, that the pundits often associate with PN. Interesting, in a good way.

yep, I found it interesting. worth the punt IMO.

From last night, both very good and big brownie points from Mrs M

The MR Chardonnay crazy bang for buck for ~$60-

Matso’s Mango Beer - 4.5% alc; Broome & Sunshine Coast, Australia.

Surprisingly, better than I thought it would be.

IMG_2585.jpeg

Delirium Tremens Strong Blond Beer; 8.5% alc, Belgium.

A friend of mine told me this was his favourite beer, so of course I had to try it.
Put some hair on my chest for sure 😅

We spent a week in Belgium last September. Fantastic place ❣️

Those double and triple beers can really take their toll on you if you are not acclimatized.

I still have nightmares 🫣

2023 Coldsteam Sauv Blanc

My second fave SB.

20260217_174401.jpg

A very pleasant little cheapy enjoyed over the past couple of nights. Nicely rounded and tannins well balanced with a goodly amount of fruit. Finally I tasted one that's not the last bottle!!!

This is very good old-world chardonnay for very reasonable coin.

Happy Hump Day 🐫

It might have been a CellarmastersWoolworthsDorrien proprietary label but was a rather good Limestone Coast Cab. The "Icon" attribute suggests they thought it good too.

Last one.

Very nice Tempranillo that did nicely over a couple of nights. Was looking for a Pinot when I went to the cellar, but it was a lamb salad and a home made pasta sauce - so even better. May have picked this up from the local pizza joint and they're batting 2 for 2 so far!!!

Been away for work and got back last night.

2021 is certainly a great vintage. Each time I try a 21 Nebb, it delivers.
