Well, after my previous effort to 'show off' the little Vintage Pioneer System I have setup/made/bought for my young bloke had become corrupted, here is: 

 

Take II: Vintage Pioneer Vinyl Teenager Rack

 

I've added Pioneer HPM 60 speakers on stands I made to match in with the previously constructed rack (a semi rip off of images I saw on the interweb for Yamaha NS1000s). I bought the HPM 60s via Stereonet and have since had them tarted up by the Speaker Hospital - they did a great job. 

 

So as it exists in its current form: 

 

Denon DL110

Pioneer PL51a 

Pioneer SX-7500

Pioneer HPM 60

 

+ a 14year old's necessity: a cable made up by The Speaker Hospital with appropriate attenuation to plug an iPhone in without blowing things up = Retro Teenage Spotify! 

 

It it is currently in our dining room before it gets packed away prior to a renovation and a new bedroom for the boy. Spoilt pest!

Some progress! We’ve moved back into our house after a renovation. Tom is quite pleased with how his setup is sounding and settling in! I’m not overly into the music he is into, he does like the ‘fast talkers’! I prefer his ‘wish you were here’ Pink Floyd moments rather than Tyler the Creator....... he does like Leon Bridges, me too! 

Too cool - now you need to show him how to take off the lid when playing records.

Thanks! HPM 60s a bit boomy in the corners (Audio Notes they ain’t!) and I’ll need to put the rack on the wall (I’ve added tabs to wall mount it with Dynabolts) as it is super susceptible to foot fall atm. Tip toeing is ok though....

Now dynabolted to the wall with 6x6x60mm dynabolts. The luxury of internal rendered brick walls I suppose! Now he can start filling his vinyl box. No doubt my stash will get raided! Need some art/album covers on the walls.

He’s now 23, things have changed a little… heaps of vinyl and I believe he is now a DJ! His mix sounded pretty good last night!
