  3. Further Information: Up for sale is a rare vintage British IMF Electronics Studio ALS-40ii Active Transmission Line Speaker (1976). The Studio ALS 40 Il are based on the original IMF transmission and active line systems but includes radically redesigned enclosures, crossovers and loudspeaker drivers. Beautiful, clean and balanced sound. Powerful bass down to 28hz, and the iconic British warm midrange and highs (clear but non fatiguing). User review against the iconic JBL L100: “I own a pair of these and would never part with them. They are luscious with deep bass and lovely mid detail. Like them better than my JBL L100 for most music.” The speakers have been refurbished, with the midrange surround foam replaced, and the cabinet refreshed; sanded and triple-coated with premium Danish Oil. All speaker drivers are original IMF drivers. The crossover is in original and untouched condition (still sounds great). There are Falcon Acoustics recap kit if the new owner wishes to upgrade in the future. Welcome to test on pickup from Kellyville Ridge 2155. Price is firm and cash only. Alternatively, can help to drop off to local Pack N Send for interstate buyers. Also listed elsewhere. Nice details here: https://www.imf-electronics.com/home-of-the-transmission-line-loudspeakers/imf-electronics/speakers-categories/the-studios/als40 Specs from HiFi Engine: Thus in the somewhat smaller bookshelf ALS 40 ll an additional bextrene subwoofer is fitted at the end of the line to enhance low frequency efficiency and extend the bass response below that which is typical of such an enclosure size. This extra bass unit is electrically driven via the crossover network and is of dissimilar but interelated resonance to the upper bass unit and to the length of line. As such, the 'active' transmission line (ALS) is a stage removed from the slave units employed with reflex enclosures. Performance adequately justifies the increased cost and extra complexity. A secondary advantage of the ALS principle lies in increased power handling, especially at very low frequencies. Each bass unit provides a termination for the other, behaving as a sub-sonic filter giving low frequency protection superior even to that under infinite baffle conditions. Specifications Type: 3 way, 4 driver loudspeaker system Frequency Response: 28Hz to 20kHz Recommended Amplifier: 25 to 60W Crossover Frequency: 150, 375, 3000Hz Impedance: 4Ω Sensitivity: 98dB Sub Bass: 1 x 205mm bextrene cone Bass: 1 x 205mm bextrene cone Midrange: 1 x 100mm cone Tweeter: 1 x dome Enclosure: active transmission line Dimensions: 350 x 350 x 680mm Weight: 18.5kg Year: 1976

  5. Up for sale are the iconic KEF 107.2 Reference speakers in mint condition. This was the 2nd iteration of the flagship 107 speakers from KEF in the mid 90s. “Recommended as one of the few full-range dynamic loudspeakers that I have experienced to touch the soul—not just of the music, but of the listener.—John Atkinson” Full review here: https://www.stereophile.com/content/kef-r107-loudspeaker-john-atkinson-1991 All original drivers, no damage, no issue. Sounds beautiful with impactful bass and amazing mid-range and non-fatiguing highs. Each speaker's dual 10” woofers produce impressive bass down to 20hz. All woofer donuts, surround foams and rubber eyelets have been professionally refurbished and are in immaculate condition. Crossover units are in the original untouched condition. The speaker's cabinet is in mint condition with very very minor signs of use. Has been well looked after. Comes with the speaker covers (covering the head units). There are some pulled marks on the fabric. I prefer to use them without the covers as they’re more transparent. I started my KEF journey with the LS50, then the LS50 Meta, upgraded to reference 105.3 before changing to 107 and then finally 107.2. The 107.2 are amazing full-range reference quality speakers and a huge step up from the previous ones. And this is very rare to find in Australia, especially in this condition. Welcome to test upon pickup from Kellyville Ridge. The price is firm. Selling as I have upgraded.

  7. This matches beautifully with the restored Yamaha B-2 Vfets advertised recently. Beautiful speaker! GLWTS
  8. TNT will not be direct to you, it will go through hubs and sorting centers, plus yeah these are large and heavy and not packaged. Furniture removalist (backloading transport) will use proper blankets, straps etc to make sure it arrives safely directly to your place.
  9. hi @Usr9742 you can either try AirTasker and put a Backloading Transport task. It should be around $300-350. Or try https://www.thebluemexican.com.au/ they have been rated by other forum members as well, they do transport between Sydney to Melb. Will be similarish price range.

  11. Iconic speaker! Amazing condition and has been recapped as well. GLWTS
  12. Thanks mate, I love the 105s! Had the 105.3 for a while and that was a better full-range speaker than LS50 Meta + dual REL T7 subs.
  13. Thanks Conrad, agreed, there's something special with the 105s and 107s, especially their bass presentation and impact. I was using the 105.3 and have found Double Bass instruments were reproduced so realistically.
  14. Indeed, it's amazing seeing the evolution of their design philosophy and innovation through the years. I started from their newer LS50 wireless, to the LS50 Meta with dual sub, and progressively upgraded by actually going back to their older reference speakers 105.3, 107 and latest 107.2. I found that their dual 10" woofer configurations with the bigger cabinet, plus the swivel heads produce better full-range sound even when compared to the LS50 Meta + Dual Rel T7 subs.
  15. I'm using MiniDSP Flex with DiracLive to simulate the Kube setting. But ended up using Harman Target curve instead which is the same thing but better. Had an opportunity to grab the Kube 200 from USA, however, read from other users that it can muddy up the midrange. So went with the MiniDSP Flex route instead with offers better flexibility plus DiracLive (and an impressive DAC for its price).

  17. Further Information: Up for sale is a rare vintage Yamaha PX-3 linear tracking turntable in Excellent condition. Has just been professionally serviced by Tuned in Audio. Local Australian 240v version. This is one of the very few linear tracking turntables with the ability to use normal cartridges. Some quotes from an owner: “The PX 3 easily out-performed the SME Model 20 with an V 9inch arm, Linn Sondek and is on a parr with a refurbed Garrard 401.” From here: https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=46477 Axel from Vintage Knob also listed this as one of his selects of vintage Japanese turntables: "More affordable than any of these but still quite valid: Yamaha PX-2 and PX-3 (forget about finding the original PX-1) Yamaha GT-2000L Sony TTS-8000 and TTS-6000 Denon DP-80 Luxman PD-300 Victor TT-101 Technics SL-10, SL-15 and the many versions of the SL-1200 Pioneer PLC-590, PL-630 or PL-70LII" From: https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/high-end-japanese-turntables.68198/ This direct drive table has been serviced, with drifting aging components replaced, 3x new linear tracking motor belts and the big main tracking belt has been reconditioned. Tim has fully tested it and is working perfectly. Lid has been polished and in excellent condition. No crack or damage. Unfortunately has lost both of the hinges, but they’re available on eBay if the new owner insists. Hinges are similar in style to Linn Sondek’s. Has been my main table for 2 years, was replacing a Technics sl1200 mk2. In my system, this produces zero distortion (main advantage of linear tracking), with more body in the midrange and clearer high and better imaging when using the same cartridge. Bought from the son of the 1st owner (a retired doctor). Welcome to test upon pickup from 2155. Or can alternatively drop it at the local Pack n Send. The price is firm.
  18. Update since it has been asked by multiple people. The amp has been serviced by Tuned In Audio on late March 2022. (copy of invoice uploaded)
  19. It is a monster indeed mate! Would be nice paired up with the Luxman PD-444 as two aircraft carriers battlegroup.
  20. No longer available, sold elsewhere. Up for sale is the very rare Yamaha CR-2040 monster receiver. Original 240v Australian version. Has been fully serviced professionally by Tim at Tuned in Audio. The wooden sleeve case has been refurbished as well, sanded down and triple-coated with premium Danish Oil. The receiver has been fully serviced and tested. Recapped, drifting components replaced, new LED bulbs, and new speaker connectors. All working flawlessly. Paired really well with the Yamaha NS-2000 and NS-1000. Compared with the Yamaha CR-2010 and CR-1010 on the speakers above, the 2040 provides much better control of the woofers and better clarity. Have a beautiful phono soundstage as well. Reading reviews from Yamaha forum members, they rate this above the 3020, 2010, 1010, etc. The best balance of sound compared to the above models. Welcome to audition upon pickup from 2155. Alternatively, I can package securely with thick foams, padding and bubble wraps. Courier door-to-door via Sendle with tracking and insured for around $60-90 depending on destination. Please send postcode to confirm cost. Price is firm. Have spent $600 servicing plus days refurbishing the wooden sleeve cabinet.
  21. SOLD ELSEWHERE. This is an amazing Thorens TD-145 turntable with the original box in excellent condition. Performs flawlessly, auto lift and stop work well and sounds sublime. Made in Germany, with superb engineering and quality. Arm cueing up and down works smoothly. This is the model above the popular TD-160, with auto-lift function, and auto stop. Some minor scratches on the lid, but no cracks or major damage. The side hinges are in excellent condition. There’s a small engraving on the back of the right side panel by the original owner. Has been looked after meticulously and will last for years to come. Current belt works well. Suspensions perform flawlessly. Shure Cartridge is still in good condition. Selling to reduce my collection. Can help with packing for courier with tracking and insured for $70 to most destinations in Australia (please send me your postcode to confirm).
  22. Great seller, highly recommended. I love the KEF 107s. They're truly an amazing speakers that still performs amazingly well. Each speaker's dual 10" woofers produce an effortless and powerful bass down to 20hz. I sold my dual REL T7 subs (and also dual B&W PV1Ds) when I bought my 107s. I used to have KEF LS50 meta with the dual REL T7 subs. Which was then replaced with the KEF 105.3 reference. I must say that the older Reference 107 still trumps all of the above combos. Truly amazing full-range speakers. Good luck with the sale.
  23. Luxman PD-290, Bang Olufsen Speakers and Marantz Integrated Amp for just $500. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-details.html?adId=1304347930
