but there is no reason you cant use any mic and software to get an idea of how they are performing in the room then make the adjustments.

the KRK rokit 8's sound brilliant out of the bx, but because they also have the added DSP EQ`to get them sounding spot on in your room

I did look at the Kalis also. I dont think you can go too wrong with most studio monitors

i use KRK rokit 8's along with the KRK S12.4 subwoofer in my home studio...I love them. Hard to beat for the price
