  1. Any interest in posting to vic for the 1100?
  2. Thanks for the offers guys. I'm located in Ballarat and happy enough to drive to the city to pick one up. Wondering whether either of the benqs that review very well btw would be bright enough for what I'm after. Will not be a batcave and spec numbers are not the be all and end all but will 1000 lumens be adequate with ambient light present?
  3. Ok. So I have a new man cave now and would in theory like to setup a tv for races and projector for footy setup. Got a 92" screen on the cheap but looking to add the projector. May not work as I would like given the light that will be present but thought I would put the feelers out for someone maybe wanting to off load an older piece of kit. Just 720 capable would likely suffice. Budget top out around $500. Let me know what ya got. Thanks
  4. Apart from crumpets for 2999. Just sayin.
  5. Ok so move into my new HT in the next 5-6 weeks. It's 3.5m wide ( screen wall ) and 4.5m long. I have it all prewired for everything Upto 5.2.4 atmos setup. Here's the equip list I have which may help guide some advice. Jvc x500 onto potentially 125" 16:9 or 120" scope. Undecided MK 750s thx as the LCR MK 550s thx as surrounds Anthony Gallo adivas for height channels SVS pb12 plus subwoofer Aura pro bass shakers Oppo 103D bluray I think they are all keepers and have the basics setup. Currently running a denon x2000 as the AVR which I will re utilise in the main lounge area with the 75" Sony x85 and inceiling def techs. So I want to setup atmos. Not sure if 5.1.4 would be overkill in the small space but would like 9 channels of processing even if two channels get used for a second zone. Also wondering if it is worth adding an amp ( eg rotel 1075 ) to drive the LCR and surrounds. Somewhat limited budget of 2000-2500 to spend on avr and amp. Would an amp be worth adding in a small room like mine or would something like a denon 3200, marantz 6010 or yammy 2079( or the like) be a more than enough to serve the purpose? Fire away with suggestions on ANY of the above.
  6. I currently have a denon x2000. So not atmos compatible yet but with the new build move in not far away am contemplating setting up atmos from scratch. I might even setup a new thread rather than derailing this one guys.
  7. Go card yep. 20 minute process. Simples
  8. I have generally found locally that if you bargain first then get a price the method of payment has never affected the end price.
  9. 4.95 a month so $60. Online statements free. Works for me.
  10. Ok so I am coming from an avr only setup but looking to add atmos. Would this amp be suitable to drive the front 3 channels, mk 750s, ( maybe surrounds, mk 550s as well) and leave the atmos channels to, for example a denon x3200? Sorry this is OT but just want to understand how to implement a piece of kit like this.
  11. To be honest if you are after a grouse looking tv that has most future proofing covered then this is a no brainer. Have watched a bit over the last 3 days and it won't disappoint. Fta is solid without being astounding. Footy looks good on it. A little bit blurry but I have only had it on factory presets. But where it shines is full hd content upscaled to 4K. Absolutely stunning. I watched my tester oblivion this arvo and was super impressed. Therefore I would ASSUME that when I get hd Foxtel hooked up in the new place then the footy should follow suit. Without knowing all the tech jargon I see it has loads of apps, not that I'll use many outside Netflix, easy to setup. Good looking rig in the lounge. Not much more to say except for, if it is a bit pricey, do what I did and whack it on 60 months int free. $40 a week and you'll enjoy all your tv viewing for the next few years at least. ????
  12. No. They suggested the product care or whatevs but it was $600. Nup. And you know what I never even thought of 3D glasses but if I want 3D on a movie I will watch it on the x500 in the movie room. Shoulda still asked though. Bugger.
