  1. I'm planning a trip to England, in a few months, and will be there for about 30 days. I need to purchase a dash cam for use in a hire car. So what I need is one that is easily removed without having to scrape the super sticky adhesive pad off the windscreen. I was thinking one with a solid suction cup mount, or possibly stuck on with that magic removable tape of some sort, provided it didn't keep falling off. Or even just the magic removable tape, and use my current dash cam with one of the spare mounts I have. Basic requirements: Roughly $200 budget Easily removed Good picture quality Any suggestions with practical experience would be greatly appreciated.. Bob
  2. Here ya go.. This mob, also a Hari Krishna Farm, explain it more.. https://www.krishnafarm.net/cow-protection/?doing_wp_cron=1708585590.2323129177093505859375
  3. I have no idea, but I don't think they eat them LOL. We found the place by accident one day, driving the back blocks trying to find a small dam that could be seen on Google Maps.
  4. There's a Hare Krishna farm not far from me. https://www.newgokula.com/
  5. @Bigflyingfish get hold of some old junk circuit boards, and practice removing and installing components, before attempting mods on your own gear. You'll hopefully learn how not to do such damage to the boards. Also, do a search on youtube for best soldering techniques. This guy has some good info and ideas.. https://www.youtube.com/@mrsolderfix3996/featured
  6. That info is better sent by private message... BTW, google maps is only showing it partially built..
  7. No mate, sounds like you might need it more than I..
  8. Good pickup.. Rotary control on the front connected to the slider on the main PCB..
  9. As the Tuner and AUX input both use the same path, through the preamp, the most likely suspect is dirty contacts on the Selector Switch. You may be able to spray contact cleaner into the switch whilst rotating it vigorously, to dislodge built up crud. Then give it a spray with something like Servisol Electrical Clean & Lube, which will give the moving parts a light coat of lubricant. 10. I have a similar issue with Genealogy software I use. This is windows based, but still a similar situation. I mainly use the software on my main laptop, then after any updating, I sync the whole data directory (which resides in the documents folder on the laptop) to a directory in the documents folder of my Synology NAS, using FreeFileSync When I want to use the same software on my other laptop, I just sync the folder from my NAS to the folder in this laptop, prior to opening the software. This also gives me a backup of my data.
  11. It's asking you to setup an Admin Account. So give the NAS a name, choose a name for the Admin Account, then set a password... When I set my Synology NAS up ages ago, it was a little different, but essentially the same.. Edit: Yes, as @Snoopy8 says, chooses a different name than admin.
  12. UCINNOVATE seem to be a supplier of general products. Shade Cloth Drip Irrigation Laptop Stand Ubuy Bhutan Ebay
  13. And what you're using it for... So yeah, it does matter..
  14. You may be very well educated, but lack understanding in things like cable terminology.. ie solid core Vs individually insulated multistrand, for a start.. I've just done it for well over 30 years.. I should be more specific on that multistrand thing.. Where you are using a multiconductor cable with individual solid core conductors, as a multistrand cable.. Geez, 3 goes and I still have trouble defining it.. It's all just about what we are experienced in mate..
  15. No, your link was for 20AWG conductor, but your pic is for 16AWG conductor..
  16. Yep, and it's such a shame I threw literally hundreds of feet of this stuff, and similar (especially twin shielded to the same spec, at 24AWG) in the bin, as off cuts, a few years back..
  17. Who says Coaxial Cable can't have a stranded centre conductor? As for the effect on the sound, you'll have to be more specific as to how you are using the Coaxial Cable.. Oh, and BTW your spell check isn't working..
  18. The mil-spec is: MIL-C-27500G, MILITARY SPECIFICATION: CABLE, POWER, ELECTRICAL AND CABLE SPECIAL PURPOSE, ELECTRICAL SHIELDED AND UNSHIELDED, GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR (09-MAY-1988) from the part number on the wire M27500 - The spec A Indicates both shielding coverage and the method of color identification of primary core insulation ie 85% shield coverage and solid colour. 20 Wire guage is 20AWG SR Conductor type Single Insulation, Silver Coated Copper to spec Mil-W-22759/44. which is WIRE, ELECTRICAL, FLUOROPOLYMER-INSULATED, CROSSLINKED MODIFIED ETFE, LIGHTWEIGHT, SILVER-COATED COPPER, 200”C, 500 VOLT 1 Number of Conductors G The specific shield style ie Single shield of flat silver coated copper strands 23 Cable jacketing materials - White, crosslinked, extruded, modified, Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene Copolymer (XLETFE) m27500.pdf
  19. I do... yes it's a coaxial construction method, but the difference between Coaxial Cable and Shielded single conductor cable is very important in terms of their applications.. Take it from a Radio Technician.. ;-)
