  2. Further Information: Up for sale is a beautiful stereo amplifier. Don’t let the simplistic styling and size fool you. It’s a sweet sounding amplifier that ticks a lot of boxes but it’s just not getting any use from me. Still in near perfect condition. Comes with the wooden side panels (which were bought separately). I think it was around $1,600 new. Here is write up: Ultra compact power amplifier – efficient & audiophile! The heart of this audiophile amplifier is a Class D module which is highly efficient and energy saving. It delivers high output power, to drive demanding speakers and fill any room with pure sound, very low and frequency-independent THD to produce the cleanest sound possible. The top grade power amplifier module guarantees fully load-independent frequency response, low output impedance and very low noise floor. It meets our highest sonic standards in terms of spaciousness and fine dynamics and provides sufficient power for excellent reproduction in normal living rooms. 3. JVC DLA-X500R Precision Series Projector delivers stunning picture detail at an unprecedented value thanks to JVC's exclusive 4K e-shift3 technology which accepts Native 4K 60P through the 4K enabled HDMI inputs and up-converts existing 1080P sources to 4K. The three discrete DILA devices in the DLA-X500R produce a stable image with no flicker and a class-leading 60,000:1 Native Contrast Ratio for peak whites and deep blacks. JVC adds an Intelligent Lens Aperture which results in a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 600,000:1. While the DLA-X500R looks fantastic right out of the box, you can optimize it to your room by using the on-screen gamma control, 7-Axis Color Management System, High Precision Pixel Alignment and more. In actual use, the X500R has the deepest black level we've seen on any lamp-based projector to date. This is still a stand out projector. Blacks are some of the best in the industry with unbelievable contrast ratio compared to other brands. Compare 600,000 dynamic contrast to 120,000/150,000 of the Sony HW40ES or VW95ES. The JVC has superior blacks. Also Native 4K input and auto focus (not on the Sony!). Note: the photos posted are compressed and do not do the picture any favours. The picture is full of colour, deep blacks, and sharp. The lamp was recently replaced, so under 30 hours!! Comes with remote and 3D emitter (but 3D glasses to be purchased separately).
  4. Further information: 4x equal lengths of QED speaker wire. Each length just over 3mts long. Not terminated. Price is for all 4 lengths. Great sounding cable. As good as new.
  5. Item: SVS Subwoofer Price Range: $1,000 - $1,500 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Looking either dual pb-1000 Or pb-2000 pro. Would prefer ported but would also consider sealed. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  6. Looking for this receiver must be in excellent condition. Prepared to pay up to $900.
  7. Hi guys. Thanks for all your responses and help. I've been doing a bit of researching (and soul searching haha) and I think that the Emotiva route is the way to go. My onkyo doesn't have pre-outs and I don't think adding another amp will get me to where I want to be, just merely a side step and I'll be looking to upgrade again shortly. The xpa-5 is going to give me all the power I need and hopefully the processor does a good job and has a decent warm sound to it (as opposed to the onkyo). One last question....would there be. Any features I may be missing going with a umc-1 versus a Denon 3312? Is the microphone calibiration as good as the Audessey on The Denon? Cheers
  8. Looking for Emotiva gear to save me from importing from the US
  9. Hi Shovel, would love to grab some of you! Happy to pay postage to Melbourne. How may have you got and what is postage likely to be?
  10. Thanks bus_boy, definitely some good points and something more to think about although so reluctant to spend more money OUCH!! How would I go if I kept my onkyo 606 to power my rears and maybe centre channel and integrate an amplifier into the system to power my fronts?! How would I go about that? Would I need to have a bypass function on my av receiver?! Or amp and add a processor?!
  11. Thanks Paul for your feedback. Had a look at a LX73 today, they look great! You can find them well under $2,000 now as well The speakers are Morel Octave Signature floorstanders. The sub (as part of the floorstanders) run off a dedicated Morel amp: http://www.morelhifi.com/products/home_octave_signature_floorstanding.html Plus i have the matching centre channel which is power hungry. The rears will run of anything. I have had a look at external amps, but a setup would cost me well over my 1,000-1,500 budget. Plus i like the features that the new AV Receivers have these days. So i suppose i'm looking for modern features, more power and a warmer sound Hope that helps! Thanks
  12. Hi guys, looking at updating my av receiver (currently Onkyo 606) because my speakers are power hungry and I don't like the sound of the onkyo (not a warm sound). Looking at either the Denon 3312 or Pioneer lx72/73. What are your thoughts on either of those for sound quality (stereo) and power (in reality not on paper). Thanks!
