  5. hehehe actually been overseas, getting some work experience mate..., became an accountant and graduated over the holidays....., so working for singapore airlines as an accountant..., so far so good..., i've been trying to keep up to date, but it sucks to live day to day without my home theatre back down there in sydney... planning to come back in 6months or so... anyway buddy hope you had ball....
  6. happy birthday Derek!, have a great one mate....
  7. very neat theatre, btw you have the same htpc case as mine.... great work...
  8. guys i think most of you guys are forgetting 28 days later, prob the most scariest film i've seen on such a low budget..... http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/225714
  9. i have soo many mates like this, and i love the bookshelf of dvds, also acts as a great sound diffuser right at the back of my room..., i just attached a curtain to it..
  10. yes well initially i had four bass traps on the floor, and i noticed an immediate improvement, then i placed another four on top of the existing ones then it improved another step immensly..., but make sure all four corners of the room are treated with bass traps or else one corner will sound more bass heavy and muddy while the others bieng defined, i know have the whole length of my corners treated with bass traps..., for greater treatment put the bass trap a bit out from the corner so the waves are absorbed twice, once for the initial wave then for the rebounded....
  11. i don't think they would sound shite, though i do agree that room acoustics do play at least 50% of how the sound will ultimately sound, i would also spare about 1k on some bass traps and acoustic panels, i got mine from here.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RK2-SoundAcoustics-...VQQcmdZViewItem and also added 4 extra bass traps to tighten up the bass.., then again i do not know the extent of brightness in your room and ultimately depends on how bright or not bright you prefer the sound... the result was unreal..., to be brief, sounded like new speakers Good luck on your journey..
  12. i guess it could be possible if your speakers are bi wireable... i dont really know what the experts think of it though.... i to wanted to have a vavle amp for two channel and my solid state rotel hooked up for ht, but didnt really get around to pursuing it...
