Hi,
I'm the original owner of this Woo Audio WA22 Class A push pull fully balanced headphone amp. This is a Gen1 version which doesn't have the preamplifier output on the back, but is more powerful. Give me more power over a pre any day. This will run pretty much any set of headphones. It has driven my Audeze and Hifiman headphones superbly, albeit they're incredibly different animals. It's from Woo so you know it's quality, built in the USA (11 kgs!). This comes with two full sets of tubes - the stock ones that came with the unit and also the ones I've upgraded to (N.O.S. and direct from Woo Audio). I purchased the amp about 10 years ago. Usage for the first two years was about once or twice per week mainly on the stock tubes. Over the past 8 years you'd be lucky if it's been turned on a dozen times - that's why I'm selling it. This is not my main listening gear, I have a stereo set-up so it's been sitting on the desk as a paper weight for a long time. The 596 wouldn't have 10 hours on it. The 5998's and 6SN7GT less than 100 hours. Stock tubes a few hundred hours. This presents in excellent condition and works perfectly.
All tubes and the amp work perfectly, no issues or problems whatsoever. Aesthetically the unit is excellent. I can't list it as Mint purely because of age, but no other reason.
The stock tubes are included in the sale, no I will not separate. The following upgraded tubes were bought NOS directly from Woo Audio -
2x Sylvania 6SN7GT;
2x 5998 Tung Sol (USA made);
1x 596 USAF (with Woo manufactured adaptor).
Upgraded tubes cost me $USD1,300 alone! Considering the price of tubes and postage these days, this presents as a great buy. I have the original boxing so can post AUS wide at your cost. Upgraded tubes would (likely) have to be posted separately, but again at your expense.
Cash on pick-up or EFT only. This is the lowest price that I'll accept, and considering the upgraded tubes are included along with a full set of stocks as back-up, this is incredible value.

This AUD range assumes a conservative exchange rate of approximately 1.50 AUD per USD (common for high-end audio imports including shipping, taxes, and duties to Australia). New prices hold steady at the full MSRP without discounts noted in sources, while used values are conservatively estimated at 65–80% of new reflecting typical audiophile resale depreciation for tube amps in good condition.
Key factors affecting value:
- Condition: New units with full warranty (3 years) and stock tubes command top dollar; used prices drop significantly if tubes are worn, chassis shows wear, or modifications exist (e.g., upgraded tubes).
- Generation: All listings reference the 2018 2nd gen model with preamp outputs, which trades at a premium over older 1st gen units (pre-2018, originally ~$1,990 USD).
- Color and accessories: Black or silver chassis availability has no noted price variance; inclusion of original tubes (6SN7 x2, 6080 x2, 5U4G x1) and packaging supports higher resale.
- Market dynamics: High-end tube amps like the WA22 retain strong value due to audiophile demand, USA-made build quality, and balanced Class-A design, but limited used listings imply stable pricing with low depreciation.
Note: Search results lack Australia-specific listings or 2025–2026 user-reported sales data, so estimates prioritize verified USD MSRP with standard conversion and conservative used adjustments; actual prices may vary by local import fees or tube upgrades.
