The move reflects PMC’s long-standing role at the professional end of the music industry, where its monitoring systems have been used in recording, mastering and broadcast facilities around the world for decades. While many hi-fi enthusiasts know the British brand for its high-end domestic loudspeakers, PMC (short for Professional Monitor Company) built its reputation inside studios working on countless albums, film soundtracks and broadcast productions. Its speakers have become closely associated with reference-grade accuracy, particularly through the company’s proprietary Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) technology.

As the industry enters the final countdown before High End Vienna opens its doors in June, PMC’s approach feels particularly fitting. Rather than focusing solely on hardware displays, the company is building what it calls “PMC Studio Vienna”. Effectively a replica of the kind of mixing and mastering environments found in its own PMC Studios facilities in London, Los Angeles and Nashville.

The immersive studio-themed space will host three curated sessions per day featuring engineers, artists and producers, alongside demonstrations of PMC’s flagship PMC Fenestria loudspeaker system. The idea is less about traditional showroom theatrics and more about connecting visitors to the creative side of music production itself.

Grammy Award-winning engineer Steve Genewick will be among the featured guests, bringing stories and recordings from inside the legendary Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. Best known for his work with artists including Bob Dylan, Diana Krall and Gregory Porter, Genewick will host a “Behind the Hits” session exploring how some of those recordings came together behind the console.

PMC’s Maurice Patist will also join Genewick for technical breakdowns of classic jazz recordings, while mastering engineer Miles Showell will explore the nuances of half-speed vinyl mastering through demonstrations on the fenestria system.

Spatial audio and immersive mixing will also feature heavily throughout the programme. Musician and producer SOHN is set to demonstrate Dolby Atmos mixing techniques using material from his debut album Tremors, while Canadian singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé will present tracks from her latest album My World is the Sun in Atmos.

In a joint statement, PMC founder Peter Thomas and co-CEOs Tom Loader and Oliver Thomas said the company wanted to celebrate not only its own milestone, but also its place within the wider recording industry ecosystem:
35 years is another fantastic milestone in the life of PMC, and what better way to mark it than at the world’s leading hi-fi show. We’ll be pulling out all the stops to proudly showcase our prominent role at the centre of music creation and playback over the past three and half decades.

The High End Vienna 2026 event also carries added significance this year, as the exhibition settles into its new Austrian home following its long-running tenure in Munich, giving brands an opportunity to reset the tone and scale of their presentations for a new era of Europe’s largest hi-fi showcase.
