Best Vanilla Ice Cream

Featured Replies

I am having a bit of a dispute with a fellow vanilla ice cream lover at work. I have a favorite brand and he has his.

List your favorite brand of vanilla ice cream.

I'll refrain from listing mine yet, so I don't influence the results.

Ohh and the best vanilla ice cream I have ever had was in a little store in was in port Fairy - home/local made stuff - simply fantastic.

As for local stuff i enjoy the vanilla gelati made at Cibo (at least some years ago it was when they just had a place in North Adelaide).

As for supermarket stuff - Im afraid with yound kids and being a stinge we by the Woolworths home brand get your 2 litres extra free 6litre tub - may not be premium but it goes a long way!

Asian, you clearly haven't tasted Streets Blue Ribbon Vanilla. My work associate is a Sara Lee French Vanilla fan. I tried Sara Lee and it tasted chemically to me. He tried the streets and claimed the vanilla flavour wasn't strong enough and that i owed him $5. Needless to say, there is a bit of tension at my workplace over this issue.

On a ml per dollar basis, Sarah Lee is 2.5 times more expensive than the streets. Draw your own conclusions from that.

Someone porked the ice cream....? :P

Well its nearly on topic but I've made peanut butter ice-cream as well as brown onion.

Oh, and black olive sorbet..

I've heard it is Bacon flavoured.

Just tried it. Seems similar to Sara Lee, but twice as expensive ($6.30 for 470ml), which makes it almost 5 times more expensive than my preferred brand, Streets Blue Ribbon.

By the way, there is a Sugden Connoisseur turntable on eBay at the moment.
