Good deli on western side of Melbourne?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a good place to get some traditional salami, chorizo and other small goods on the western side of Melb.

I'm going to visit some friends in NSW and asked them what should I bring. They recon they cant get good salami in northern NSW where they are.

I'll be passing through the outer western suburbs on my way up there, Vic market is getting too far away. Not being local, I'm looking for suggestions of where to get some really good small goods. I need stuff thats going to impress and maintain Melbourne's reputation as the best place in Oz to get good food

Any suggestions welcome  :thumb:

My Mrs goes to one in Highpoint Shopping Centre in Maribyrnong, it's right next to the Woolworths and she keeps harping on about it being the best deli she has been to.

There's one down stairs next to Aldi @ to Altona Gate shopping centre :thumb:

Highpoint isnt too far out of the way, Altona is a bit more of a detour.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I like this one: http://www.marazitabros.com.au. They are located opposite the Coles supermarket in Williamstown (Coles entrance). I go there for prosciutto and Gruyere.

If you are after Polish and German products there's a deli where English is a second language at the Aircraft shopping centre. The deli opens onto the car park that forms the hollow centre of the shops tucked against the overbridge as you drive to Aircraft station near Laverton.

The guys thats hosting the get together is of italian descent, so I guess some salami, prosciutto, etc would be good.

I can get some really nice locally produced bacon here, bacon is always popular.

@@Marc has the best deli i know of, head to Sunbury.
