Laptop Advice on a budget ...

Thanks all. I have passed on all this info, but to summarise it was pretty much spend the top end of the budget ($1000) and get the latest spec processor, and don't get talked into AMD etc.

 

I believe they've gone shopping today. Thanks for all the input.

The graphics processor will be the most important thing in this computer.

What are they offering?

The graphics card is the most important..and ram helps when it comes to graphics ; if he's doing walkthoughs the output might be to a gaming console but he will still be creating, testing on the computer.. when it comes to polygons it's all about the graphics card and the 3d software is designed to utilise it too..

Depends largely on the software being used, and the type of processing IMO.

 

Real time rendering often leans on the GPU predominantly while other processing will lean on the CPU.

 

I used to look at this stuff closely but haven't for a while so just going on memory.
