McDonald's sneakily up-sells coffee if customers are not explicit?

Featured Replies

Have pretty much given up trying to get a good 'barista' coffee around here.  Nearest shop wants to give me an Espresso in a mug cos 'Espresso' just means 'from the machine'.  40km away is just 'average' and 100?km away where they are all hands on , do own beans and blends today made their 'Rich and Strong' taste like flavoured water !

It's stove top perc'er for me.

Just in case I am supposed to be more detailed I did once ask for a "hot and strong" one and that didn't go over very well.

I dunno... I reckon if you ask for a coffee at macca's you get what you deserve

I'm with you on that one. But I'm not at all surprised. I'm sure they have people dedicated to the task of devising sales techniques like that. I stopped contributing to their tills a long time ago.

  • I just don't get this thread. You went to maccas and asked for coffee.... Can't you see a flaw in in you strategy????

I don't mind the pods, but they are really quite expensive for make at home coffee IMHO

Meh.

Just another weekly/monthly expense we've learned to live with.

Like beer, cigarettes, fuel......

:)

McD's don't sell coffee period - well not if you are like me on only like to drink triple or quadruple unadulterated shots of coffee...  As for their food they don't have gluten and dairy free choices so the only thing I have had from them in the past 5 years was fry's.
