Lump Charcoal in Geelong/West Melbourne

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone. I've asked this question on the Aussie BBQ forum but to no avail. Does anyone here know where to get good quality (not the Bunnings rubbish) lump charcoal in the Geelong/Surfcoast area? West of Melbourne?

Cheers

Steve

You can buy good charcoal from Bunnings, it's the Redhead brand. Very dense and long burn time. I agree the other stuff they sell as charcoal is rubbish but try the Redhead charcoal it is excellent.

I've been cooking over charcoal for a few years and doing things with meat, the butcher has only dreamed of.

BBQ Galore sell "Kamado Joe" branded US Hickory lump charcoal.  That is what I use.

I get my charcoal from a  fresh food grocer at Sunshine Plaza.

I contacted the supplier of the charcoal who advised me of that store.

I have been buying charcoal from that place for a while now.

This part of the sentance has a very disturbing overtone.

@@caddisgeek Speaking of obtaining items that have nothing to do with stereos via this forum, did you ever procure a goat?
