I have no idea what you mean.

Maybe he means this 🤔

Business is either an occupation, profession, or trade, or is a commercial activity which involves providing goods or services in exchange for profits. Profession is a form of economic activities, wherein special skills, knowledge and expertise is required to be applied by the person in his occupation.

Businesses are entrepreneurial in nature, involving ownership and management, while professions focus on individual skill development and professional growth. Business owners have greater control and autonomy over decision-making, while professionals are subject to professional standards, ethics, and regulations.

Oki doki. In all the industries that I work in or with business is a commonly used term to describe an organisation that aggregates professionals to undertake projects and/or provide professional services.    As a topical example, I own and run a company that employs 350 people and turns over hundreds of millions of dollars.  We very commonly refer to it as ‘the business’ and I’m very confident that this is a common use of the term.

In the context of my post however, I was using the term professional in the context of software that is typically designed and deployed for the purposes of professionals utilising it to undertake their work, and to differentiate it from domestic or home use software that is typically designed and deployed for individual private use at home.

One thing that really annoys me is that when you create documents using Mac in Pages or Numbers Mac  allows you  to save to Word or Excel so you can open on a Windows PC or share to a windows PC user.

But Microsoft will not offer that same convenience/courtesy the other way around. I have always found that rather mean.

So for your daughter going to Uni this may be a consideration? Might be best to ask her what she will like? I think most younger people are all in the Apple ecosystem mostly?
