Room Correction is the biggest thing since Stereo

Recommended Posts

What brought me here was the thread about Dirac ART.

Room Correction software, IMO, is the biggest thing in the home audio world since stereo itself. I remember spending hours, days even, with a Soundcraftsman EQ and a Radio Shack SPL meter, plaything the Soundcraftsman record with test tones, trying to make EQ adjustments to compensate for the room.

Now, we have things like Audyssey and Dirac ART.  I am absolutely amazed and can't wait until ART is available for my Denon AVR

Welcome to SNA! I have to say that I agree with you totally. This is especially true if you have subwoofers. Without some kind of room correction, it is impossible to get the subs to integrate with your mains and the result more often than not is they are heard as separate sources.

Dirac ART user (and lover) here. The wait will be worth it @davidc

Man, I am so excited for this.  Are you running the beta with Marantz or Denon? Or are you lucky enough to have equipment from Storm?

Storm ISP Core16. I was in the ART beta program and have had it since about April last year.

Hopefully I'll only have to wait a few more weeks...
