Tone Malone Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Hi brainstrust! I've recently purchased a couple of records (Talking Heads' Remain in Light and Bowie's Rise & Fall if Ziggy Stardust) where the vinyl is in good nick but the covers are missing. Does anyone have any tips as to where to find replacement covers? I know they're "out there" but have enough projects without spending ages hunting them down!
PicoWattson Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Not sure if they are "out there". I have a Cold Chisel and several Beatles that have been waiting for for new clothes for several years. The Vinyl usually fairs better than cardboard in adverse atmospheric conditions.
audiofeline Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Your best bet is to look for a copy of the record in poor condition (so is cheap) in a good sleeve. In the 80's it was possible for a record shop to order a sleeve only from the record company, my local was able to get sleeves for a few disks I didn't have covers for (and surprisingly, the record company didn't charge for it). 1
GregWormald Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Buy a plain cover, or use one from a throw-away LP from a junk shop. Then print one from the internet. 1
LogicprObe Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Yeah........printing your own sounds like the best bet.
