You need an amp with at least 100w. What happens if you use a 50w amp?

If you're listening to low / mid SPL levels they will be fine.

You will only notice a difference at mid to high volume settings, mostly in the lower registers.

I have the CS6 model and, sometimes, drive them with a valve amplifier at 36 Watts for late night listening. No problem at all. 😉

Thiel 3.6?  Huge amounts of power required.  Bare minimum 200w p/channel into 8 ohms, with the ability to double cleanly to 400 into 4ohms.  They sleep at anything less than that. They operate at a 2 ohm load throughout most of their range.  Worth a look if you have the amp! (and remaining system) to support them. They'll reveal everything in the chain good and bad.

My puny 50 watter won’t cut it. The most affordable power amp of the magnitude needed for this application is the Crown XLS1502 (2x 525W @ 4 ohm). About 1100 for the amp.

There should be a number of much more suitable amps listed here for at tge same price or less than the crown, IMHO.  These speakers are at a price that investing some more in an amp if they didn't have a suitable, would get one a seriously good system.
