It features Sony KSS-190A, magnetic drive, friction-less laser mechanism - the best ever made. Everything is made of metal - the chassis, the tray, the rest of the loader. The tray glides on brass rail and the tray entry is sealed by silicon plate, which not only facilitates noiseless operation, but also prevents ingress of any dust to the inside of the player. This in turns makes not only for smoother operation but also prevents overheating of internal electronics which is never covered in dust, as is the case in cheaper designs. Instant T.O.C. (Table of Content) reading and instant track access, including smooth forward and reverse fast winding. Reads any CD or CD-R and easily exceeds Red Book 0.9mm CD fault specification (by over a double that - please see the video at the end of this ad). Its SPDIF trace is exemplary, and superior to any Marantz or C.E.C. players or transports and almost on par with Wadias and Accuphase Dp-80L Transport. The analogue section features 2 x TDA-1541A DAC chips, the original Philips 16bit DACs. These can be upgraded to Single or Double Crown units, and if the purchaser so desires, I can fit sockets to facilitate easy (plug and play) upgrade. Two analogue outputs are provided: fixed and variable. Excellent ELNA audiophile capacitors are factory fitted to the audio section. Remote controller sadly has some battle scars and cannot really be described to be as new. I will try to obtain a better one. There is also a chance now to have wooden cheeks (side panels) fitted to it, if an offer from either of two members comes to fruition.
