Administrator Marc Posted September 5, 2004 Administrator Share Posted September 5, 2004 Forgive me for not knowing much about the DJ world... but I am curious what equipment is required for a typical Mobile DJ setup? What brands are regarded as entry level, and what is regarded as "high end" ?
Wrayza
You could probably break it down to 3 catagories; Sound: Amps, speakers, mixer and monitoring Source: Turntables, cd players Effects: Lighting ect. As for brands, there are too many to mention, but I'll list a few; Sound: JBL, Peavey, Behringer, Crown, EAW, Crest, Gemini Source: Technics, Pioneer, Stanton, Denon, Vestax Some of those apply to both, but they all make good gear. Good luck man
-Daniel-
I think the gear that I have is pretty much entry level in the Pioneer range of DJ equipment. I have the DJM-300 mixer and 2 CDJ-100s [web:46866dd676]http://www.pioneerprodj.com/[/web:46866dd676]
Pyroay
Ok, some of the good higher end brands Mackie for speakers amps and PA mixers. JBL speakers are regarded as the industry standard Lorantz are made in Australia and are very good. In my opinion often as good as the igh end JBL stuff. Behringer make good quality equipment and their prices are very competitive. Not considered high end but i have foudn their gear to perform very well and be very competitive in price compared with JBL or Mackie. Their mixers and effects unit s in particular although their speakers are not as good. Crown are awesome for amplifiers and are considered high end, they are powerfull & expensive. There lightweight series are great for mobile set-ups but you pay for it in the initial price. AKG, Sure & Seinheiser make top quality microphones with the Sure SM58 being industry standard for bands and the like with the SM57 industry standard as an instrument mic.
