It is with extreme disappointment, anger, but also further sadness that I must let members know that I strongly suspect user https://www.stereonet.com/forums/profile/359387-noideanick/ to either be Bill (of Bill's Cables) himself, or someone working with or known to him. They claimed to be a "Nick Costa".

Much information has been provided to me about this relatively new user's transactions, along with phone numbers (which I have confirmed to be Bills) and bank details, as well as detailed excuses that marry up with those told to many members back when they were waiting for cables (COVID, Pneumonia, Hospitalisation, sick son, couldn't get to post office etc etc.). The user used a VPN to circumvent obvious detection, but claiming their location was Sydney, some low cost products which were actually sent tracked from being sent in Bill's locality (QLD). When questioned on this, responses varied from his son living there, or them having a holiday home there.

In all cases, Paypal was not accepted by the seller and they insisted on EFT - which automatically gives the buyer no way of recouping funds. The buyers too easily agreed to this in every case, blindly sending money to an unknown and relatively new seller. By now, I would have thought members would be a little more aware of this, but sadly not.

Please members, be more aware of who you are dealing with. Insist on photo ID if need be, a phone call will not deter a scammer (and now proven pathological liar and criminal). We are putting more and more checks in place and being more vigilant every day, but there is only so much we can do. If it sounds too good to be true, or you have any doubt whatsoever, walk away! Another good deal will be just around the corner.

I believe this absolutely scum of the earth is going to extensive lengths to use multiple aliases, clearing cookies, using different VPNs, multiple devices etc to create these accounts. Please, be extra careful who you are buying from.

Obviously we are taking this further, and we already have ongoing legal avenues in action thanks to @parrasaw.

Anyone affected by this should jump in on the ongoing action and recourse action process:
