Just been there... some good deals, but you really need to try this chair for yourself... it's not as sturdy and the angle of the backrest will suit some and not others.. Happy with my Lush version even though it costs more...

Got this instead for my dining table:

FYI friends..

If anyone is into the "retro" styling for their homes, and wishes to get Eames, Sean Dixon, Hans Wenger etc, these are your options:

- you can go original, which will be pretty good, but costly

- you can get original, but old pieces, just make sure they are not rotten

- you can get replicas which will be much cheaper (like 1/4 or less)

If you go for replicas, do note that there is a wide variety of them, and many places to buy, such as OM, Lush, Logans',  Summer, Gnee Hong, Picket Rail etc.

The quality truly varies, and you need to see, touch and sit on them. This is especially true of the chairs, as the angle of the backrest, the texture of the wood, and even the finish varies a lot.

So you do sometimes get what you pay for.

Caveat Emptor.

Yeah, one of my choice

I used to use this for my HT but I have since changed it.

My HT is also my music setup and becoz my floorstanders' tweeters are lower than my ear level when I am seated, I didn't find it ideal. One more disadvantage is that e back rest is high and hard so it's not ideal when u want to listen to 5.1 music or even hear e surrounds in e back. Presently I am using something simple from Hive until my new place is ready... the surrounds are more immersive now becoz they are on speaker stands which are higher than my ear level. Music is great becoz at my most relaxed seated state, e music is emitting directly to my ears. I will post a pic when I can

Just my 2 cents

This leather chair come with matching  footstool quite comfy type. It's actually a rocking chair motion type of recliner. Similar for the footstool. So if you sit and rest your feet on the footstool and rock, it will sync with the chair. Very shiok. Bought it last year at Courts Tampines during offer time for $699. Normal price is like $1000 plus.

You will find that those particular about their HT will avoid chairs which have excessively high backs, as these may block some of the sound from the side and rears.

Having said that, the Eames chair is an excellent chair, and replicas don't cost that much. Alternative the retro chair adjacent to my Eames chair is quite comfy and the right height for the tweeters too.

Paiseh for late reply, haven't been reading much of other stuff besides D3 these days.

It's just below 3k, not sure if there's any sales during this GSS period.

Nothing fancy for me. Have been using this for almost 7 years, and no plans to change. I like the simple, non-bulky design.
