What I settled on finally:

Main listening chair:

(from Lush Lush - 1.7k)

Guest listening chair:

(Retro armchair from Lush too)

For additional guests:

("The Chair")

And this one:

(Wishbone chair)

An Eames...nice...even tho its a copy still a nice looking chair...a real retro classic

Charles and Ray Eames made the lounge chair and ottoman as a gift for their friend Billy Wilder, the director of "Some Like It Hot" and "Sunset Blvd." When we began manufacturing the set in 1956, we maintained as much of the hand-craftsmanship as was possible with mass production. Throughout the Eames/Nelson era, we came closer than anyone else to incorporating craft ideals into the mass production of furniture.

Wow!! nice. Is it comfy? I seems too low for main listening chair.

Can the height be adjusted?

  • Author

No adjustment for height or tilt.. But I sit with my ear 1000 mm from the ground, which is ideal... Ymmv...

If anyone is keen, do some homework, a cheap replica can be had for 1000$, even with leather but the workmanship can be poor. The real deal should be about 8k.

The head rest acts as an absorber and also blocks sound from the back even for 2 channel- some people prefer it though so YMMV as always.

My Eames Chair arrives...

It's tilted slight backwards, so you can look at something above your eyeline. Actually my retro armchair makes a really good listening chair... those who tried the loaner green one will appreciate the qualities of it.

My furniture is now largely complete....

My system is in the living room(hall) so have to make do with 5-seater sofa set to accommodate the guests

and visitors.

When listening on my own I'll be seating the 3-seater facing the system with my furry mate

listening/sleeping on the 2-seater.  ;D

Wa your kitty can tahan the noise? Mine is banned from my music room and as for movies, it ll run off when it hears the pop sound from my centre speakers when I switch on my HT ;D

Your furry mate looks like Garfield in size!  :o
