Since they are quite a lot of floorstander owners,  can you pls share with me your experience in speaker positioning.

For me, I spend weeks if not month trying to find the right position, and it is never rite. Considering my unit is a bookshelf, I am lucking to have it moved around quite easily, I am asking just in case I will be facing this problem in the not so long future. laser pointer ?

If you consider that it has a DAC phono and integrated amp, the 20k is surprisingly reasonable :) compared to some really esoteric gear here.

Plus this is the only one I know that has an HDMI DAC!!

Yeah doggie, I contacted Quantin partner of company, he willing to give 15days money back guarantee, top with a free Weiss int202 for pc interface, however in sep it can do wireless streaming Liao, very very tempting sia

Forget SACD. Think BluRays with great 2.0 LPCM HD tracks. Even if it didn't play SACD DSD, I think that along would be a big jump cos there's no other way to get HD bitstream out to a good quality DAC.

That said, obviously I would be thrilled if it did DSD over HDMI.

But none of the reviews ever tested this functionality IIRC.

This I donno leh need to ask.

My only concern is the dac they use, it's burr brown 1792 chips, I tot 1794 will be better? Or I am wrong.

Both PCM1792/94 are the same actually. One of the difference is PCM1792 is software-controlled while PCM1794 is hardware controlled. So you need a microcontroller to control it via I2C or SPI.

PCM1794 can be more diy friendly I believe.

The PCM179x uses current segment DAC and this helps to provide lowest jitter and highest linearity. You can see how many zeros in the THD. Since the data is converted to analog output at this stage, you'll need a I to V conversion

from a Sapphire owner at AVS:

I've sold the Egglestonworks Andra 2 and moved on and this time I think I may have finally found my perfect speaker, a few months back i may have annoyed a couple of people on these forums when I claimed that although I respected and greatly admired the c1's I could never truly fall in love with it.

Well on a lark I decided to audition a pair of speakers and in a surprising turn of events that I wasn't expecting I absolutely fell head over heels for it.

In my room, it is the most complete speaker I have ever heard, the most musical, the most moving, and it has a synergistic coupling to my system and room that is just perfect. Better even than when I heard it in past showrooms.

This speaker produces an absolutely clear mid-band, incredibly neutral and it's resolution is the best I have heard in my room and only equaled in other outside auditions by the Magico V2 and Wilson Sophia 3. This is an amazing speaker for peering into the recording, into timbre and texture and inflection and breathing, just brilliant.

It is very FAST, faster than the Sophia 3 and as fast as the Magico.

This speaker, the magico m5 and V2, Avant garde DUO and a Von Schweikert vr-5 are the fastest speakers I have ever heard.

I've said the mid-band was clear but let me say it again, it is absolutely open with gobs of air and seperation, vocals are full bodied and extended and the transition from mid-range to tweeter is incredibly transparent and fluid, i felt the other speaker that did this best was the Focal Diablo, now the Diablo has company.

The imaging is nearly perfect except for a slight foreshortening from front to back, it's only fault in the imaging stakes in my book, lateral spread was wide, extended and fully formed. The musical images were fully formed and had body and volume.

Shortcomings? It isn't full range, and while the bass is punchy and taut and services the music capably it fails to give that inaudible yet visceral bass air that truly defines a recording venue. If it just went down +/- 3db a few more hertz it would be perfect.

Faults? there are faults but I’m not sure I’d call them that. For instance the treble in the vocal region is a little hot and you’d think this would be a problem but the tweeter is so clear, so grain free, the handoff from the mids to highs so smooth and seamless that this shortcoming is ameliorated, and this fault actually helps the vocals since it gives a certain lift to it so separate it from the background a bit and give you a chance to hear literally nearly everything there; inflection, enunciation, breathing, pause, start, going up, coming down it’s all there.

Many times in listening to it I was left shaking my head in disbelief, here was a speaker that had so much resolution I had a hard time believing it could be this musical but it was, I heard timbre so warm, liquid and pure it couldn’t possibly be giving me full resolution but it did. Jazz was addictively musical, classical with brass was glorious, vocals were moving, rock was propulsive, it was fantastic and perfect. The last time I was this moved was when I switched to tubes, and the last time before that was when I discovered Dynaudio, and the last time before that was when I had my first hi-fi at 13.

I could go on and on and keep checking things off a checklist full of audio goodies but I haven’t touched yet on that quality which is harder to catch than lightning in a bottle and that’s musicality. I don’t know what it is but I know I like it when I hear it and this speaker has bags of it. Lately I’ve been slightly disappointed with the higher end models I’ve heard from Dynaudio because while they were impressive they didn’t make me go gaga, I felt they were putting neutrality and precision over artistry and musicality but no longer, my faith is restored and between this speaker, the special 25 and the Excite models, I think Dynaudio is evolving.

And you know what bowls me over? I wasn’t expecting much going in, I thought the speakers to have that were kick-ass were the Confidence models specifically the c4 and the Evidence series, I had sort of dismissed it as a pretty face and maybe just a special model more for curio than a real music product, well no longer; the Dynaudio Sapphires bring me the best, most musical sounds I’ve ever heard in my system and maybe anywhere, I think I may be settling down for the long haul. I’m back to Dynaudio and I’m loving it.

Why the question? Stocks running low. You wanna buy better be fast.

Very interested in getting one thus wanna know what's the market price for it now.  See if its more worthwhile to get it from the neighbouring country. No offense to the dealer here :)

From my understanding, neighbouring countries all buy from Dyn Singapore. Why so troublesome? Just get from Nick. Good service, good speakers and good price definitely. :)
