Marantz has announced that free DTS:X firmware updates for the SR7010 and SR6010 AV receivers and AV8802(A) and AV7702mkII surround processors will be available early next year.  The AV8802(A) update will be available February 4 while updates for the other three models are slated to go live March 3. Instructions on how to update can be found at marantz.com.

The company said additional updates for current DTS:X-ready models will follow later in 2016.

The SR7010 was recently named one of Sound & Vision’s 2015 Top Picks of the Year in AV receivers, while the AV8802 was singled out as the overall 2015 Top Pick of the Year.

With the update, the receivers and processors will be able to run an Audyssey-equalized DTS:X setup with 9.2 or 11.2 channels.

dear friends,

I have a SA8005 /PM8005 combo and a SR6010 receiver intending for HT duty to be played from my Synology NAS drive. While the SR6010 setup confirms my 5.1 speakers are all working. Playing contents from Apple TV (Netflix)  or NAS only gives me stereo sound from only the L/R speakers. Coulee there be something wrong with my connection?

Apple TV HDMI to receiver

SACD optical out to receiver

L/R speakers to PM8005

PM8005 out to SR6010

center, surrounds, sub to SR6010

Am I missing out something here?

any help will be appreciated!

Daniel

I suggest you go through the manual, and see the options on applying surround to a Stereo Signal from your Apple TV.

You should be able to use the All Speakers, Virtual, or Dolby Surround Options.

Hi Daniel, am using the Denon x6200.

Have this issue with the Apple TV 4 as well.

Possibly it's a firmware issue?

Tried all possible setting combinations but no go.

I am eagerly awaiting the DTS upgrade to try but in the mean time I will try and use LPCM and DSU... looking forward to some downtime this X Mas :)

You get what you pay for ... the 7010 is not considered as 'premium' as the Denon 7200, so the rollout for DTS-X is 3rd March, more than a month longer than the Denon :(

Hi bro and sis here, I got 1 problem with my uncle SR5010. I help my uncle install power amp using MM7025 for his front speaker but fail. I've check everything but the amp setting didn't show anything about front Pre out.

Haiz my cousin also going to install power amp for his front and center channel SR5008, scare also can't ... cos both model got Pre out for power amp. ... ??? Thanks a lot.

Just to clarify:

You used the pre-out on the 5010 to your MM 7025 inputs, and there was no sound?

Have you checked the configuration settings on the 5010 ? If you run a tone test, you should hear some sounds from some speaker if the connections are correct. Otherwise it may be time to bring your amp in for a service check..

Yes Pete, I've run tone test but not sound coming out from the front and I've checked the setting seem like there's no other setting to set Pre Out for the front. ... any SR5010 user using Pre Out to power amp ? Thanks a lot Pete

Have you tried using the internal amps to drive the front channels?

Have you read the manual on "AMP ASSIGN"?

If you have the pre outs working properly there will be sound coming from some speakers during the test tones. If there's no sound, either your pre outs aren't working or the "AMP ASSIGN" is not done properly.

Using the internal amps will rule out an internal problem in the 5010. And we are assuming your power amp is working and properly hooked up with the speakers.

You should send a photo or diagram of your hook up and the setup page on-screen.

And set the volume to 75DB during the test.

Lol .. yes, Pismo Mac I've connected the both front cable to power amp.

OK Pete I'll x2 check again the issue then I'll update again.

Now I'm temporary using total 5 internal amp after fail attempt using 2ch power amp.

Thanks a lot Pete & Pismo Mac ..
